Stage 1: Denial
It can't possibly be true. McGregor is just TROLLING. There's no way he would retire just like that right guys?

Stage 2: Anger
McTapper back at it again. He's SCARED stiff of rematching Diaz. Good riddance that he's gone from the sport.

Stage 3: Bargaining
He should atleast fulfill his UFC 200 contract. He could give us the fans and the UFC this one for everything we've done for him.

Stage 4: Depression
What are we going to talk about now? MMA is just not the same without good ol McGregor and his crazy antics. Remember when he KO'd Aldo in 13 seconds??

Stage 5: Acceptance
Our MMA savior has moved on. The featherweights are back on the prelims, LWs pushed to UFC Fight Night. PPV numbers are down, Sherdog activity reduced. Increase in UFC China buyout rumours.

"3 years ago today, I began my crusade to take all you bums from 5 figure paydays to multi seven figure paydays. And not even a thank you. #KissThemFeet" - Conor "The Notorious" McGregor.

RIP sweet prince

I think more than anything mockery of Conor fans.

Conor fans are at stage 1. Denial that Conor backed out of a fight.

Fanboys and closet fan boys still at #1.

Denial is the big hump...

"Who?"

That stage.

Hard to tell since all of them include doing your mom.

so sad you and @JagWar got duped...as a Nigerian Prince my job is done...
If you are a Nigerian Prince, can you look into why my check has been delayed. Raheem hasn't been responding to my emails. Thanks in advance, Prince.

I'm still in Stage 0: Confusion

I really dont care, if he wants to retire then good for him. If not thats also cool

None. Conor will be back.

If you think the UFC is going to let their guaranteed cash cow retire after messing up & letting Lesnar, GSP, Ronda all take time off and leave you're very wrong.

He was the European crossover star they'd always been waiting for.

This is hard ball independent contractor negotiations. He'll be back by UFC New York.
