Amanda didn’t fight the position which led to Pena attacking the sub. Giving up or accepting the inferior position without any effort is the first red flag. Then she didn’t fight the hands (which is what you always do when someone tries to get his/her arms in there and squeeze the shit out of your neck). The hooks weren’t in, either, which means a seasoned grappler could’ve improved the position which would’ve taken away the submission threat. It’s BJJ 101, really.
I could accept that if Nunes was leaking blood, had her eye(s) swell shut, ate a couple knees to the solar plexus or liver… None of that happened. She landed a couple haymakers over the top and Pena was the one showing some damage to her face.
