Her and her sister opened a gym as blue belts but made it appear that they were black belts. Many in the BJJ community were angered by this. They did have Karate black belts but they were clearly wearing BJJ black belts in BJJ gis.

I have work and family so don't get to train as much as others, but have been working hard to get to my brown belt. Been at it for well over a decade now. Not going to stop until I reach black but at this rate it looks like it will take me 20 years....Mayce's current age.

Valentina was in her late 20s when she got into the UFC and had 12 years MMA experience behind her, plus all her high level mauy thai competition.

Honestly I don't give a shit about her little countdown to being a champ by 21, it's probably not going to happen. Not the most athletic, not very fast and terrible striking defense. She could climb the ranks for sure with a couple wins in this shallow division full of TUF contestants and other ufc fighters that want to “re-invent” theirselves (aka couldn’t hack it at 115 or 135) hence Jessica eye going like 2-6-1 at 135 and now getting a title shot. So yeah Maycee is right about possibly earning a title shot in the future. But does she know who the badass champion is? Arguably has a win over Amanda Nunes is what a lot of people feel like. Valentina is fast, athletic, defensively versed and slick on the ground as well. Keep those post-fight speeches coming Maycee, your graduating class of a couple years ago are proud of you and maybe the homecoming king is willing to give you a one night stand in his trailer.

yeah can't blame her for being ambitious, but there's no way she beats Valentina in the next 2 years. i think she'd have a slightly better chance at strawweight, which she plans to go back to after the next 2-3 fights
