If Khabib took him down and let him back up for giggles, you could say he wanted to show what he could do on the feet.

That's not what happened. The only reason he was on the feet 3-4 and parts of 5 were because he couldn't complete his takedown attempts.

When he wanted the takedown in Round 5, he got the takedown. He doesn’t completer all of them obviously, but Al is a much much better grappler than Conor.
