So is Conor vs Nate at 170 still the main event?

I don't see how this non title fight is a bigger fight than Holly defending her belt for the 1st time.

Much more interested in Holly vs Miesha now that RDA is out.

Nate recently got beat up by RDA, Bendo and brutally KO'd by Thompson and lost 3 out of his last 5 fights.

You're actually more interested in Holly vs Miesha than Conor vs Nate?? If you're a fight fan that can't be true. While I agree with you in terms of legitimacy I don't agree that Holly-Miesha is the bigger fight. Good question though about the main event. I was wondering same thing. Dana mentioned earlier that it would be main event.

Who cares? You're going to see both fights.

I really don't know.

If he is the ME over a title fight, I think he is going to be the first to do that.

How very odd...
Zuffa pairing Conor with a striker....

Who'd have thought of THAT!???

Nate Diaz:
18 wins: 4 (t)tko, 3 decisions, 11 submissions.

He is far and away a better grappler than he is a striker.

Don't be daft. It's the difference between a 3 round or a 5 round fight

True but I doubt Nate will be able to go 5 rounds on 10 days notice.

It's also Zuffa saying an unranked LW from FW fighting a top 10 LW on a 1 fight win streak is bigger than her 1st title defense.

Yeah but I'll bet you he has no intention of shooting for takedowns and keeping the fight on the ground though.

I do not know. It is likely that Nate will not be able to get Conor down, though. What I do know is that Nate's grappling is more dangerous than his striking. To call him a "striker" is to ignore reality.

Fuck your "legacy".. this is a GIFT!! EMBRACE IT!

I miss nhb..

I would actually prefer it if the chick fight was last. I could just turn the fights off after Conor/Nate.

LOL Fail.
If you daze your opponent, he is easy picking for a submission.
But we both know Diaz is no grappler.
He is a striker with a great ground game.
Takedowns? Not his best trait...

No. Without question, Nate's grappling is superior to his striking and his stats demonstrate that clearly.

Both title fights took place before Ortiz v Belfort. Phil Baroni fought Pete Sell in the co-main, too.

I'm cool with the bigger fight being the main even though it isn't a title fight. The jump to 170 for McG and the stylistic matchup intrigue me more than Holm v Tate, but that's just me.

Wouldn't you rather have both fights be 5 rounds?

Is it a 3 rd fight or 5?

How heavy could nate possibly be to not make 155 @this point? Seriously, what else does he need to do other than cut weight right now..

sorry, but how many times you see Nate trying to hold anyone?
Have you ever see him fight? It seems not.
Reading wikipedia's numbers does not make you an expert. ;)

Recently? The Benson fight was 3 years ago.

The only fight we can truly use to gauge how Nate will perform at this point is the MJ fight.
