So how would you judge Nate Diaz career ?

cult icon, can stand and bang with the best of the them, never chose to adapt to wrestling or point fighting, as a fan always knew against the top 7 or so he would get merked, at least against high level grapplers

wasted

see what I did there

He's one of those guys that is clearly "good", but clearly not "great".

Of course, worthy of respect.

Average boxer, cant check kicks after 20 ish years of fighting mma, nice persoanlity, good chin, journeyman but unique because of his personality. One of my favorites

A very good fighter who never evolved with the times

The Nate Diaz we see now isn't really much better than Diaz of 7 years ago IMO. It would never happen but I wonder what he could've been if he went to a MMA gym away from his brother and the skrap pack
I agree he hasnt evolved but its almost a testament to how good his boxing and bjj are that he can hang with the top 10 and not ever use wrestling or kicks.

Getting a red panty night is his best achievement.

Boarderline top 10 all time? Christ TS must be higher than Nate.
So you think he's not? His boxing is as good as anyone's. He's not a world beater but I think top ten isn't an absurd suggestion.

This. He has had a really good career, but I never considered him as a serious contender. He was always able to beat really good guys who were good style match ups for him. But that's about it.

I had someone the other day trying to tell me that Nate is way better then he was back when he got dominated by RDA, Thompson, Bendo and Rory. shoot even Joe daddy schooled him when everyone thought Nate was going to walk through him. But anyone who has followed his career for over 10 years like a lot of serious fans have, know that he is the same fighter. but styles make fights.

Made millions and became a legend while being slightly above average.

His career was optimal.

He couldn't do any better than what he did, and he should be proud of himself.

In a multiverse, this is the best version of his life.

Overachieving. Just looking at him and his skillset, you wouldn't think he would have beat a lot of the guys he has beat, and he beat them badly.

He's good, but not great. He just happens to match up extremely well with Conor.

Conor made him a star, than Conor moved to way bigger things. Nate is still stuck in 2016. How he handled his boost in fame is a fucking waste of money, he could have made 1-2m or maybe more if he was smart, fighting dudes and growing as a fighter. Expending is brand. He just don't want to fight, all he does is talking shit on social media like he's the king and as something to say. Come on. He wants 30m now. How ridiculous is that? Nate Diaz needs Conor. Or he should prove us wrong and fight!

To me he's in the top 10 LW of all time.

He has wins over Mcgregor, Cerrone, Johnson, Maynard, Miller, Guillard, Gomi (out of prime though), Pellegrino..

He is damn hard to fight, with a long reach, an amazing cardio, hendo-like chin, and top notch jiu jitsu.. Just like Nick, he is a volume puncher, a great user of the jab and the quick one-two combination.

I wish he would have used his grappling skills more often (like in the guillard fight), because that would have spared him some scars and years of his life.

Anyway, a great warrior, and a missed attribute of the LW division. He may be back against Conor to end the trilogy, or maybe for a big fight, but until then he had a great career overall. With a better resume than his brother Nick.
I fully know the roasting I’ll get for suggesting this but....., if Khabib fight Conor next include Ferguson vs Diaz on the same card lol. High profile fights on high profile card for all involved and great fighters to throw in if someone gets injured. He’ll throw in Porier vs Lee and Alvarez vs Gaethje on surrounding cards.

Decent gatekeeper.

Has a few good wins, but a few bad losses.
