So Gaethje is fighting RDA now ?

With Chandler/Hooker booked that's the only logical fight that remains for Gaethje ? Or will it be oliveira ? Which one would you like ?

I think both Oliviera & Gaethje are going to wait & see what happens in the Poirier/Conor fight. If Poirier wins they will both call him out & 1 of them will get to fight Poirier for the vacant belt.

If Conor wins they will both call him out but he will be pushing for the Pacquiao fight, which is what Manny is waiting on. If not MacPac, then Nate or Masvidal would seem more likely than Conor fighting for the UFC belt. I dont think Dana wants him holding that division hostage again.

They booked Chandler with Hooker instead of Gaethje???? The better fight was vs Gaethje with both having a similar storyline getting into UFC with similar fighting styles. That was the fight to make...

I guess they are relying on Hookers height to make it hard for Chandler to get takedowns and force him to strike vs a striker with longer reach and height advantage who is known for his knee knockouts down the middle which is perfect for shorter wrestling based fighters.

On the feet, Gaethje would chop Conor up, but, dude, his zhoo zhits looked non existent vs Khabib. I think a whole lot of the guys at LW smell blood. Even Tony would find it in him to dive for Justin's legs in a rematch.
 
I don't think we'll hear anything until after McGregor/Poirier happens. Hard to say where the division will go if Conor wins because nobody knows what his intentions are. I think the UFC is keeping the belt away from that fight, because Conor winning and then not defending is very much on the table.

Gaethje vs Oliveira makes a ton of sense, but not sure its gonna happen. The UFC still hasn't picked TUF Coaches and Gaethje would be a good option for one half of that. That's where maybe RDA comes in as he speaks better English then Oliveira and lives in Cali.
 
Khabib exposed gaethjes BJJ but who's going to be able to take him down so easily? No one has the same level of wrestling as khabib.

I'd much rather Oliveira. RDA looked good in his return to lightweight, but he should fight one other top 10 guy first. Him vs Islam would be a good one to see where both guys are at.

Khabib took him down with ease. He didn't even have to string them together to get him to the ground. It looks like any decent wrestler could take him down without much effort. What is his takedown defense percentage?

I think Oliveira can take him down without much trouble as well, his takedown game be looking very good recently

He had only spent a few seconds on the ground in the UFC prior to the Khabib fight, I believe Poirier had a brief TD.
