So Cal tent camping

I know there are a lot of posters in Southern California here. Any recommendations for a camping spot to take gf? I noticed that many places are booked waaay in advance and I was hoping to find something available in the next few weeks.

I was considering Crystal Cove but there you have to hike 3 miles out to the campground which kind of sucks, plus we're not allowed to have a fire.

I'm considering going to the beach to roast some marshmallows and then just get a hotel room after.

Pain in the dick to get to. There are plenty of campgrounds around San Juan Capistrano that you don't need to book far in advance.

I once camped right next the border, off the 8, east of SD near the golden acorn casino....
at night I was awakened by the shuffling of sand, opened the tent and bam, a good 20-30 people sneaking into the US right past our tents

I had to respect the gangsta, we were a good ten or fifteen miles from anything resembling civilization

They weren't ignoring you; they were just focusing on their tasks at hand, and just having dialogues with the established members of their group, and the people they were beholden to. Most people are like that. It's nothing personal.
