There is no best way. What works for some doesn't work for others.

I would guess there are more examples of short notice guys losing fights.

Plus, it also depends on what kind of shape someone was in already and how they match up with opponents IMO.

It all depends on the fighter... Lots of guys wouldn't make weight on 2 weeks notice.
