If you can't see the value in winning fights without dropping a round then Idk what to tell you. Winning dominantly is better then winning a competitive fight. Pretty self explanatory.

fedor grew up at a time when steroids were looked at like vitamins and did all his best work in a fed with zero drug testing. why should we believe he was too stuck up to take a steroid?

My point is that it's not better enough to matter. By the time you take competition into account, rounds won becomes totally meaningless.

"good competition" can mean any damn thing. if you're really looking at who beat who and when, you're not going to give a shit about how many rounds they won.

I have an opinion and enjoy the dumpster fire debate when nothing else is churning.

why would i take it into consideration if the guy who put on the less dominating performance still has better wins or more title defenses?

It's been proven. Jon Jones is the GOAT. It's pretty pathetic that it's this hard to get the word out, but that's MMA fans for you.

Impressive names on his resume.
Fought 3-4x/year, for years on end.
HL reel finishes.
Fought for the finish.
Could beat opponents anywhere; well-rounded.
Mystique/aura of invincibility matched only by Anderson.

show me two fighters where everything else is equal. i'm saying it's meaningless because it never comes down to which two fighters won more rounds.

Another expert dodge lol. Jones and GSP have very comparable career paths. They're arguably equal in most regards. GSP has been more dominant.
 
What the f..

A fighter that wins more rounds and therefore the fight is victorious. If Jones didn't won rounds, he wouldn't be a GOAT (one of) contender. Same for GSP.

The more rounds won you have under your belt, the more fights you won. Quite simple actually but it is not all to define what a true GOAT is.
 
You're right. Drug test failures are a better method than rounds won.
 
The most dominant thing you can do in a fight is finish your opponent, the sooner the better. It means in a street fight you could have killed him, way more dominant than winning 5 rounds. You can bet that fighters that cant finish their opponents are insecure about it deep down, no one starts training dreaming to be a guy that never finishes.
