Massive AA fan. I didn't really expect AA to win this one to be honest. I strongly hoped so, but wasn't surprised by it. However, I am devastated by the nature of the finish. Sure. that kick probably would have knocked many down, but to roll over and let the fight finish the way AA did? There was no heart in him from that point. It is almost like he expected to be beaten the second he got knocked down.

Is AA done?

P.S: He fights now with too much hesitation. He fears getting popped on the chin and backs up when his opponent makes the faintest of moves. Where is the AA that had massive power behind his shots and through incredibly fast and wicked combinations?

Agree, I believe any hope of a title shot is now gone sadly with that loss to Overeem.

He'll fight again and he's still got some gas left in him (hopefully).

Same can't be said for Bigfoot unfortunately. That man needs to stop fighting!!!

To whatever extent Arlovski is done, Bigfoot is five times as much so.

Brutal knockout losses are par for the course in that division. How they are even alive as they approach forty is a mystery.

Arlovski can win any fight where he can consistently land his right straight, and is almost guaranteed to lose every fight he doesn't. His right straight seems to be divinely inspired, but in all its glory it's still pretty much his only truly threatening weapon.

If his opponent knows how to deal with it, he's pretty much hosed.

At his advanced age, Andrei can make adjustments to become better suited at landing it, but a complete rework of his technique is not possible.

I dunno, did anyone actually believe that AA had it in him to become a serious challenger? To me, he always looked (even) more prone to just folding than Reem.

The Browne fight, it looked like Arlovski was always 10 seconds away from losing.

Andrei has always panicked when rocked. His bad instincts when in trouble are as muchto blame for his "bad chin" as his pourous defense and his actual jaw (that I think is just fine, even for HW standards).

Overeem hit that kick and AA just stood there like he always does and got knocked. At first I was like that looked weird but I remembered it's Arlovski.

He could still beat any heavyweight, even reem, but I see having to face JDS soon aaaaannnd yeah.

The UFC matchmaker fucked Arlovski. He deserved that shot after UFC 187

So much truth in this thread; it's fking sad.

If you get devastated every time AA chin gets cracked you must live a sad life

I thought Arlovski did fine, he was still awake after that, usually he goes unconscious.

I love how someone can sit behind a screen and question a fighters heart. AA has fought the best of the best and you are ignorant enough to question his heart?

I wouldn't say he gave up so much as that kick took him out of the fight.

The hell is this nonsense about Arlovski having no heart?

He got kicked straight in the chin by Overeem. THEN he got slammed a huge one, clean critical hit to his jaw. If that were you you'd be dead already. It's amazing that Arlovski wasn't KTFO from that.

The kick came out of nowhere and Arlovski barely had a moment to think before he got clocked by the followup. Not a bad way to go out at all, I'm not sure anyone could have taken those shots and stayed on their feet.

Arlovski has ALOT of heart. His chin dont listen to him but he always tries his best.

AA tried to fight through the front kick, but the second punch was adios muchacho, when he went down and the way he covered up you knew it was over.

He's still one of the hardest hitters, so he always has a chance.

arlovski was always disapointing

ever since he got ko'd by tim sylvia

Leave age aside, something has changed in him. He hesitates much more than he use to and, not surprisingly, this may be due to him being worried about his chin holding up. Needs to work on defensive game.
