Skyrim Special Edition

Put in so many hours into this game, but enough time has passed to where I can replay it without the game being stale.

Hope the Mods live up to the hype.

Once they get SKSE and ENBoost rocking with the updated engine, i'm gonna sink another 400 hours in. *sigh*

Just don't break anything Bethesda. Please don't fucking break anything.

Come on now this is Bugthesda, something is going to be broken.

Exactly my stance. I put enough hours to be bored but it was so long ago, everything will seem new! Seriously, Skyrim is great because even if you finished it 2-3 times, there are ways to replay it without doing the same things.

With mods, you can even disregard the whole main story and choose to be a Dragon Priest worshiping them instead of killing them! There's no way I'm not replaying with the Special Edition, I know it will be fun and I'm experienced enough to go all-in without hesitation.

Fun times ahead!

Well this time, they have very few "new" material to handle. It's only a re-mastered job to a game that has been tweaked for 5 years. Don't forget all the modding community that worked on the game, including the "unofficial patch" bunch that are very aware of the game's flaws.

Don't worry, I doubt the Special Edition will have bugs or engine flaws: at worst, there will be some glitches here and there but nothing more, I'm sure.

i dont think i even finished skyrim tbh and def did not play the DLC's. this is a day one purchase for me

The community overhauls the game, changing and adding different elements. Skyrim has a massive modding community that has added countless weapons, creatures, mechanics, dungeons, graphical updates etc...

I've played Skyrim vanilla on xbox 360 and I've played it modded out on PC. It felt like a completely different game (I use mostly graphic and sound mods) with all the mods it may even look better than the special edition.

if you have the original game and dlc's on pc, the Special Edition is free for PC.

also, if you're playing Skyrim for the first time, I'd suggest going the thief route, or thief and magic. The warrior subquests for the companions are very bland and the gameplay is very repetitive.

With thief you'll have access to the thieves guild, it's subplots, makes the assassins guild more enjoyable, soloing dungeons more immersive and you'll get more use out of the sneak, assassination and archery mechanics, which imo are the highlight of the game.

Yeah one of my characters started off using a sword and shield and I had to change that up by the time I was around Level 10. Not the best play style for this game

I didn't even know about this! I got an embarrassing amount of hours on Steam already, but I haven't played in forever...Now I got my weekend planned.<[analyzed}>

ill definitely play it since i have a pc, and ill probably go my typical route (dark elf assassin scout type with one handed and archery).

Sneaky scout/assassin is the best build in skyrim and makes you play at a slowed down pace and its more enjoyable.

Being a warrior gets bland, and being a mage is just annoying because the only useful spells are destruction in this game and all enemy mages just use wards with infinite magic basically so your magic is almost useless against them.

I do wish this game had better archery mechanics though, (archery sucks ass until you have increased movement speed with your bow out)

Lastly the main reason i like the assassin one hand and archer build is because you get the most out of the guilds. The companions and college of winterhold are extremely dull, but the thieves and assassins are good, especially the thieves.

Oh yeah, of course. After all, we've been beta testing the first one for 6 years now. By the time it comes to PC it should be the best game ever, right?
We've been testing Demon Souls for 7 years now. It's almost ready. Any day now. ;)

That's really good advice. The melee mechanics are pretty meh in Skyrim but magic and stealth are a lot of fun. I've already put too many hours into this game but that's the route I would still go if I were to play again.

Pure mages are not that good, but adding magic to any build can really be fun. I tend to play warriors, but also work on sneaking and magic. It's fun to sneak into bandit caves, case an illusion spell to get the bandits fighting, then add a summoned creature. Snipe a couple of people with a bound bow and finally rush in a finish the final bandit by lopping off his head with my two handed sword.

Don't think I'm gonna bother with this. Already played this game too much.

I made an illusionist assassin once. Was a lot of fun.
Charm people and slit their throats. Or just use frenzy and watch the show. Invisibilty was pretty neat too. Play as a hot chick for extra roleplaying points.
