Single vs Double mouth guard?

I'm looking for a mouth piece since I started sparring again. Is there a difference with a Single or a Double mouth guard?
It looks like all the pro's use the single and is a double mouth guard legal to use professionally in MMA/Boxing/Kickboxing?

i use a double myself. Used to use a single too, and aside from more limited breathing *which i think is a good thing because it works my cardio* and more chances of getting my lips cut, i don't think there is any difference to it at all. But tbh, i'd rather use a double.

Most people will probably say get a custom from somewhere like gladiators. I have a new shockdoctor double and can't vouch enough for it. It's moulds to your bottom teeth aswell as your top ones so the stability is great.

A double mouthguard is legal in professional boxing. They should provide more protection for the lower teeth but are not always as comfortable and obviously you don't want it inhibiting your breathing

Thanks for the answer, is double mouth guard legal for Pro MMA too?
(I never saw any UFC fighter use a double before)

Most pros wear single custom mouthguards. However , they do sell double custom mouthguards at Damage Control Mouthguards. www.dcmouthguards.com Thier the only custom Mouthguard company I know that does...

I prefer a single, but maybe just because it's what I've worn since the mid-90s.

I prefer a single. I had a double for a while but I didn't like it.

Custom single is the way to go. I wouldn't consider anything else.

I bought a boil and bite double thinking it would be better protection and easier breathing than a single, but I was wrong. If you have even a slight underbite like I do, a double basically forces your jaw to be unnaturally aligned. Also, the space between the top and bottom pieces keeps you from really clenching your jaw, which I suspect makes you more susceptible to getting ko'ed.

i can't breathe with a double, so single all the way. if you can afford a custom one, then it is even more compact than a boil one.
