Silverback Gorilla vs Grizzly Bear.. who wins???

I'm a big gorilla fan. I am actually a "gorilla parent" at the St. Louis zoo. They are gentle docile creatures for the most part. Have you ever heard of a gorilla killing anything? Maybe a few instances...Leopards have been known to kill gorillas.
Grizzly bears kill on a regular basis. Their teeth, size, and claws are designed to kill. Please don't put both of them in a cage to see who would win. Gorillas are already endangered. It would be very sad to see one get mauled to death.

Okay I got together with the council of gorillaologists and we decided upon your advice to hold off on death matches until they are off the endangered species list.

Bears arent hunters, theyre scavengers and dont have the same killer instinct or hunting chops as a large cat for example. Unleash a rabid 500lb gorilla on fat lazy ass bears during salmon season and you got a tossup folks. Under normal circumstances the bear wins just by the very nature of each creature. Gorilla would most likely avoid in that situation though and thats where the intelligence comes into play. Gorillas are fucking powerful with the large males estimated to be able to deadlift 4k lbs, cant remember where I read that but it was a scientific source.

I think a few of the posters on here have never encountered a bear. I grew up in North Eastern Pennsylvania, my family still lives there. My parents' house regularly gets visits from black bears. A few years ago a black bear bent over a metal pole, tore down a bird feeder that was strung with light cable, and tore the metal feeder apart to get to the bird seed. The pole is sunk two feet into the ground with a concrete base. It's a 4" diameter Schedule 80 steel pipe. I could grab 4 of my buddies all of which are over 200 lbs and we couldn't bend that pole over. A black bear that was probably around 275-325lbs did that. A 600-800 lb grizzly would have been able to bend it 90 degrees parallel to the ground if it wanted to.

I lol at anyone who thinks the strength of a Gorilla combined with intellect enables a Gorilla to last more than a few minutes vs a grizzly.

Bears are stronger, larger, with much more deadly weapons. Gorillas don't have a single physical advantage here.

The gorilla isnt standing in front of bear to be swiped down. Hes smart enough and agile enough to work his way to the bears back where he stays for the rest of the battle. Here he can ktfo bear with some donkey kong knocks to the head.

No but if the gorilla is smart enough to pick up a rock, stick, or whatever the hell is natural out in nature he can do that. Idk if theyre that intelligent. I wouldnt be surprised though

It took apes forever to pick up a stick to get termites. You think they're going to invent their weaponry on the fly when a Grizzly is coming at them?

i posted that video of mine where the boxers predicted. in the comments section a ton of people said joe rogan talked about it and therefore it is proof a bear would win. 1) how the fuck does joe know more than anyone else? 2) he even says in the podcast he doesnt really know shit about it. amazing how for some people listening to rogan is like listening to god himself

The bear is too big!

And too strong. Those claws are brutal. They are fucking huge!

And to top it off, bears have so much fat on them, and the fur and skin are tough as hell. The gorilla wouldn't be able to even hurt it really.

It would be sad to watch because the gorilla wouldn't stand a chance.
