The problem with matchmaking for Pico is he will absolutely WRECK anyone who is not at the top, and will almost as surely get wrecked by anyone who is.

There is no gradient with this guy. He'll get another 5 KOTN bonuses and then get cold slumped in a main event.

We saw what happened on the weekend, but if this fights get made Pico will do zero ground and all striking, the guy is his own worst enemy, mind you we can say that for basically every American wrestler ever in UFC except for Dan Severn, and possibly Coleman, even Hughes got really into striking in his later finds when Billy Rush came with all that bro science stuff.

Everyone is so sure Jean would run over Pico. Remember, Pico has a strong wrestling base and Silva was easily mounted by Diego Lopes, a guy who is primarily a striker. Pico could mix it up and get some takedowns, and he’s got super heavy hands. Jean Silva’s defense isn’t great even when he isn’t afraid of the takedown.

Or, Pico might decide to just go in and start banging - either way, it would be an entertaining fight.
