Sort your narratives out dudes:

Prime constantly fighting champ Silva fights Forrest who has just taken a loss - SIlva is GOAT, a true warrior.

Semi-retired out of prime ring rust GSP might fight the champ Bisping who just won in the best MW division ever - GSP is a coward.

Sherdog doublethink.

It's probably because GSP still has business at WW with Hendricks or the current champ Lawler.

Silva was running out of people to fight and wanted to keep up a decent schedule. Also, I don't think people are blaming GSP; it's a cool fight for him. I think people are giving Bisping shit for calling out the retired guy a weight class below him.

If GSP wants that fight, good for him. Bisping has some really good TDD that makes good wrestlers look average, it's not an easy comeback; especially a weightclass higher. I'd be down just for the entertainment factor.

Silva / Forrest wasn't for the belt.

I'd like to see GSP/Bisping no matter the whats and whys.

BJ Penn fought Machida at Heavyweight, RDA can fight Cain Velasquez.

And fighters aren't cowards, bitches hiding behind keyboards are cowards.

Is it the best MW division ever? Bisping was fringe top 10 for most of Anderson's tenure as champion. Anderson loses the belt, and within a couple of years Bisping is top 5, then champion.

Hendricks made an expedited migration into irrelevancy.

I have faith in Dana not to green light this fight if GSP is truly interested.

The Baldfather isn't going to forget all those years of him fucking up the Superfight with Anderson.

There's no way he rewards GSP with an immediate comeback fight against the MW champ whom just so happens to be the weakest champ to date.

Dana should throw GSP in with Hendricks.

See how fast GSP goes back to drinking martinis.

Who said GSP is a coward for wanting the fight? I've mostly seen people ripping on Bisping for trying to defend his belt against anybody but a top contender. Kind of ballsy if GSP wants to move up to take on a bigger champ.

Silva / Forrest wasn't for the belt.

Nailed it. GSP trying to add a feather to his cap by winning the MW title, but wasn't interested when Silva, Weidman, or Rockhold were champ.

While Bisping is definitely a better matchup for GSP than Weidman or Rockhold, calling him the weakest champ is kind of a dick move considering he rekt 0 title defense Rockhold fair and square... On short notice.

Also GSP beats current Hendricks... I'm no Hendricks hater, and I won't give the mods the pleasure of blaming USADA, but current Hendricks IS NOT the same fighter who arguably beat GSP.
I feel even in retirement GSP will have declined less... And since that was a dead even fight last time, that spells a GSP win for me.

Would GSP be allowed to juice up like Anderson?

Don't forget when Prime Silva was asked about a super fight with Jon Jones, He said, "He too big. Me no win."

It's not the best MW division ever. It was when Anderson was champ right before the weidman fight. And that's the MW division GSP wanted no part of.

I just read a thread full of old school GSP haters (or BJ Penn/Anderson fanboys who don't remember why they were supposed to talk trash about him) and accusations of cowardice are raining.

The guy retires: what a coward, running away from the sport with the belt, ducking Robbie, blabla (it's not like he had an opportunity to fight Lawler anyway)
Guy come back to fighting Bisping at MW: shameful display, he waited until Anderson wasn't the champ anymore and he tries to weasel his way back to relevance; who does he think he is?

But I'd also love to watch this fight, belt or not I don't care; I like this match-up and that would be sweet to watch it materialize.
Fans around the world are not exactly holding their breath for a Hendricks rematch, no one cares.
The higher weight-class champ is a more tempting fight that another friggin rematch.
If GSP comes back, I would rather not watch him waste a perfectly good fight on JH with so many opportunities opening.
