Significant strike breakdown from the Main Event

Yeah thanks! Had no idea Pereira got out landed in round 5. Was that the round where Pereira landed the big head kick? Made his opponent back up, looked like he was hurt?

The fight was a draw, and a mostly boring one. Alex won round 3, and round 5 had more effective strikes even if Ank landed more.

Ank did a whole lot of holding him against the fence (yawn). lol Rogan's comments when the crowd would boo the slow fight against the fence; Rogan was saying it was because they like Alex. No moron, they are booing because of the hugging going on in the Octagon (yawn). They want to see a fight.

I've never been this bored with the UFC.

You can count the number of head strikes Pereira landed per round on one hand, even if you’re missing a finger…

I don’t understand it at all…

After Pereira was rocked early in round 2, he was on autopilot till round 5.

He moved forward and closed the distance, but he wasnt there enough to pull the trigger.

Ehhh this isn't boxing. If volume won every fight, you'd see MMA fighters fight like wmma fighters to a decision every time. To me it seemed like when Ank tagged Alex it hurt, where Ank seemed to not be affected by the kicks like every other opponent Alex had before. He never let Alex land too hard on him because of his pressure. Alex should've used more boxing to stop the pressure but stuck with kicks only.

It seems like both were a bit tentative. Everytime one pushed the pace the other didn't really meet him there, and even when pushing they were a bit scared to really let go. Specially Poatan.

Weird fight. Maybe a rematch would go differently but who knows.

Not really any exciting fights for the LHW belt.

Poatan lost very clearly. Can't really see any legitimate argument against it. Was not a particularly great fight.

It's bizarre how Ankalaev out-struck the Glory kickboxing champion except in leg kicks but here we are.

Pereira won rounds 1 & 3 & if the 5th had the big head kick then Pereira won that round too.
