*sigh* Gray Maynard at 145

good idea gray. severely dehydrate your brain/body to make weight...because hell your chin has held up pretty good otherwise right?

I really hate this theme of older, fading fighters deciding to put more stress on their body, put less fat and water in their brains, fighting faster opponents when speed is the first thing to go. It's just straight up unhealthy and doesn't work. Remember Keith Jardine at 185?

The problem is you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.

I'm saddened by this news. I'm not even kidding, this bummed me out.

I liked Gray and he was once one of the best lightweights on the planet. One of the fastest falls we've seen. I hope they don't match him up with anyone good or that has power.

stop it. I dont like Gray, at one time he just laid on people. worse than Fitch ever did.

but the reason why Maynard has been ktfo by everyone is because he keeps pretending he's a boxer. And not a very good one at that. Throwing single power shots while head hunting is a fantastic way to get countered. and he has been, brutally.

If Maynard decided to start humping guys again, he could beat half the FW's and LW's still. He just needs to fall out of love with his shite boxing and start mixing it up and he'll do just fine. I was far more concerned with Diego than I am with Maynard. Maynard doesnt have the physical disadvantages that Diego has, his problems can be fixed.

It's not that I hate him, I don't. But it's...frustrating (I guess is the right word) to see him continue to hurt himself for what I can only expect will be another loss. I just think he should be coaching - he's taken far too much punishment

the man's been stopped 4 times in his entire career. what's your measure for "far too much measurement". Did you look at his MRIs or something? has he been showing signs of permanent damage via speech impediment or something along those lines?

are you also as concerned about the other fighters who have 4 or more T(KO) losses in their career?

Do you know how much a coach makes in the sport compared to what a fighter makes? And are you assuming that every fighter would make a good coach?

Come on dude. You're better than this. Let the guy make his living. He knows where his body and capabilities are at, the UFC knows what the deal is with his recent string of losses.

We don't need angry people like you calling for fighters to voluntarily quit their job just so that it becomes easier for your insecurities to get a boner.

lol @ trying to pass it as if you care for the man. "obsolete fighter". GTFO dude. Go make something of your life. It is not too late.

so glad they took the IV bag away now we can see a weight cut fatality

He is better suited, frame wise for the modern BW or featherweight, so is ok. Just needs to drop a couple lbs of muscle. His last fight was like 7 months ago, and he wasn't knocked out. So he's had time to recover, maybe, if he isn't sparring hard.

The way he lost to Nate was bad enough that even he should seed it's time to move away from the gloves.

I'm surprised with 4 straight losses he's getting the chance in the UFC

Wow he cut a ton of weight to make 155. Silly

Greys chin is sooo 2011.

Diego and Gray need to walk together into the sunset...It's been over for those fools.

It's beyond sad at this point.

Well obvious he should just fight Diego. It's the only thing that makes sense. One of them has to win. The other retires.

Gray and Diego need a Rogan podcast intervention.
