So I ordered a gi. It's too big. Sleeves are too long. So how do I shrink it? The washing instructions say not to dry in a dryer. Will it shrink if I hang dry? Or does it say not to machine dry because it will shrink?

Any help would be good.

it says not to machine dry because it will shrink
I would wash it in hot water first and see how it fits.. after dry it in increments of 10 mins and see how it fits.

That won't work. Take it to a tailor and get a custom-made, slim fit Gi.

Just the sleeves? Or everything?

washing it and then putting it in the dryer on the hot setting for about an hour (with a full load in there as well) will shrink it about an inch or two, but everywhere and that includes circumference. So if it's not also loose around the chest DO NOT DO THIS!!!

Appreciate the advice fellas. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Hot wash and hot dry will shrink da fuq outta your gi in all dimensions (but mostly sleeve length and body width due to the pattern of the weave).

Put it in the closet for a few years. It will shrink while it's hanging in there.
