Random, but does anyone else find this theraputic? I used to do it as a break in college if I was stuck on a paper/project. Even now if I'm stressed, I'll stand in the hot water, and listen to music to clear my head and refocus.

It’s literally the only time i get to be alone, so yeah. Good way to clear my head.

Women from Europe tell me showers are therapeutic but I had always assumed anything done bi-weekly can be seen as therapy.

Depends on what the definition of therapeutic is. I think the word you are looking for is "relaxing"

I read somewhere that a hot shower triggers alpha brain waves and also a dopamine release, which I guess would be the cause of the mental clarity you're describing.

for sure. it is relaxing and a good solitaire place for meditation.

as a therapeutic showering expert, i'll give you some expert tips

1. consider lying down or sitting down next time you're taking a shower.
2. bring a beer in with you on a hot day.
3. on a really hot day, cut up some watermelon and take that in the shower with you. very refreshing.

If you have a comfortable reclining chair, you can also get a similar thing from laying back in it, taking a towel soaked with hot water, and putting it over your face / head, and just laying there like that for a bit, breathing in through the nose. Let the stress melt away. It's a good thing to do when you don't have time for a shower

Definetely. There are many times ill go into the shower stressed out and come out feeling alot better.

Aah, water boarding in the comfort of your own home.

I like to sit in the shower and cry while I hold my knees.

In the movies it always helps the rape victims deal with their trauma.

I figure that if it works for them then it will probably make me feel better about not getting enough likes on sherdog.

If you have a woman in there it sure is. Those boobs will be fucking sparkling when it is over. Also it is kind of good if you piss in the shower.

I used to get anxiety in the shower from thinking too much. It was the steam and lack of oxygen that gets my heart beating so fast it’s been scary before.

I know other people who have gotten panic attacks in the shower.

Fuck yeah. It's the only place I like to be. I need an on demand water heater.

No doubt. I'm sadly no longer able to spend my preferred 20-25 minutes in the shower relaxing everyday, my last water bill was through the roof.

Try being on a ship for weeks on end having and to take "sea showers" (turn on faucet, get wet, turn off faucet, lather up, turn on faucet, rince off suds, turn off faucet)

First thing I do when I get home is drain the hot water tank in my shower.
