Should violent cults be illegal?

In the US cults are protected by the First Amendment "freedom of religious exercise".
But if it's a batshit crazy cult, then it can be labeled as a criminal organization, thus making it illegal to take part in this cult.

My question is, why not ban Islam? Or at least some parts of it.

Yeah- the problem is... everyone who's not apart said 'cult's' think the others are cults and there's is the true way. Like islam probably thinks Christianity is a cult. Christians think islam is a cult. Atheists think all religions are cults.

So when you start banning 'cults' you really start to impede on religious freedoms which is protected in the Bill of Rights. There's no easy way around it. I imagine when our forefathers created this country they didn't see Islam as a huge threat.

It's one thing when you have someone evangelizing on the street to try and convert you- it takes a whole other level when your option is to convert or die and they set out to kill and crucify people for being Christians and Jews. I don't think our forefathers ever imagined such a thing being allowed to happen. 99% of muslims in America are nice people. The problem is when you're a muslim you agree with Sharia Law.

Sharia Law doesn't come about until muslims have enough people to enforce sharia law. So while when they're small in numbers it looks like a rather innocent group- until they become the overwhelming majority of the population and start enforcing Sharia Law and you see islam for what it really is.

Many types of cults, religion, gangs, groups that gather and protest violently, etc. Tough to maintain stability with so much differing opinions. I am all for a variety of opinions but when uneducated people gather bad things usually happen naturally.

By the way, we take our freedoms seriously in America, at least the ones guaranteed to us. We don't half-ass it like in Europe. They should be allowed to practice their shitty religion, and if they become violent, we lock them up for a long time in a shitty prison, instead of putting them in a hotel for a short amount of time like in Europe.
