Mark hunt is a prime example of how it's bullshit when fighters say that unnecessary follow up blows are unstoppable because of "fighter instinct".

The follow up hammer fist spam after a clear KO always pissed me off. I'm glad to see great sportsmanship from Hunt.

Refs allowed to use soccer kicks to break up post horn GnP.

Baby steps.

I think it’s because Hunt simply doesn’t want to follow up on the ground so he waits and sees if he has to

in Paul Harris's case sure but for the case of 99% of the rest the fighters they are instructed to fight until the opponent taps, verbally submits, there is a corner or doctor stoppage or the referee intervenes. it's a display of sportsmanship to not beat a lifeless opponent but it isn't illegal if the referee lets it go on.

Nope the fight should not be stopped until the ref stops the fight. Ngl it is awful and so dangerous to see it, but the ref needs to make sure the fighter is conscious for the fight to either carry on or be stopped. Refs like Mario Yamasaki should never ref again the ammount of mistakes that guy makes too busy making love hearts

You sound like a guy who tucks his sack between his legs, prancing around in your room listening to Cyndi Lauper. Man up

The thing is, if you are wrong about the follow up being unnecessary, it can not only end up losing you the fight, but also be a turning point that starts your career going down the shitter... according to one UFC fighter (unfortunately I can't remember his name) who said in an interview, looking back on his career, that that was exactly what happened to his fight and his career.

It is the ref's job to stop the fighting and declare the fight over, and not the job of the fighter to decide that he is victorious and that the fight is over. It isn't an issue of sportsmanship.

if you're going to punish people for punches you deem unnecessary, then you're asking them to determine whether or not their opponent can continue.

A fighter should keep fighting until the ref stops it and not a moment sooner.

its already against the rules..

what more are we looking for?

Yes.

The ref should GnP the fighter for this.
