Should the fight have been stopped when Bisping was not able to answer the bell?

At the end of the 3rd round, Anderson landed a violent jumping left knee to Michael's face, snapping his head back and dropping his lifeless body to the canvas.

Looked like Bisping lost consciousness momentarily as he fell. When he woke back up, he was unable to answer Herb Dean or get back to his corner.

He was down on the canvas for a good 20 seconds after the round was over, then didn't get back to his corner until 50+ seconds had passed after the round was over. Then Bisping's corner was able to attend to him more throughout the break, and stayed an extra 20 seconds inside the octagon. 20 more seconds than Anderson's corner was allowed & 20 more seconds longer than the break between rounds was supposed to be.

How much longer did Romero get between rounds?

Not really. Although I think Anderson deserved to win, I think in light of the amount of confusion and Anderson sitting on the cage like the fight was already stopped etc. 20 seconds is nothing.

It should have been, but Anderson screwed that pooch by wanting to pretend he won and trying to influence Dean's actions. If he would have just waited and kept the cage clear, Herb would have had no choice but to call it.

Again, silva clowning away the win.

God i hate anderson

He was saved by the bell.

Because of all the mayhem caused by Silva attempting troll his way to calling the fight, I stop watch clocked the time to 1:57 from the knee to the next round resuming.

Bisping most definitely got extra time to recover because Silva thought he could honey-dick a victory. But Herb wasn't having it.

Bisping's corner would have collected him faster and plopped him on the stool if Silva wasn't literally celebrating on the cage.

Pretty much. Anderson gave him more time to recover by celebrating, going up the cage, ignoring Herb then trying to beg him to just call it.

If it had been stopped, it would have been fine. Bisping fans would be bitching about the knee the same as now though.

(c) If the mouthpiece is involuntarily dislodged during competition, the referee shall call time, clean the mouthpiece and reinsert the mouthpiece at the first opportune moment, without interfering with the immediate action.

It should have been waived off after Bisping continued to lay there like he'd been knocked out.

It was more deserving of being stopped than Romero/Kennedy that's for sure. Romero was at least able to walk to his corner after the round, whereas Bisping just sat on the canvas even after being told the fight wasn't over multiple times (and this is without a language barrier). Bisping ended up with a lot of extra time to recover.

Why can't you guys just accept the fact that Bisping won 3 out of 5 rounds? haha

It will not change no matter how many threads crying about it you make.

Clownderson lost on most people's scorecards to the point of people bringing up Pride rules...PRIDE RULES!?!?! It's pathetic you guys making excuse for a legend like this...it sort of illustrates how badly he has ages the last couple of years.

Go to the video. Herb Dean moved towards Bisping after his first attempt to get the timeout for his mouthpiece. Bisping understood Dean was responding to him as at every other time a ref moves to get himself between fighters and pause a fight.

After Dean started moving towards him to interject himself between them and pause the fight, Bisping understood he was going to "break them up" and pause the fight.

Silva, however, knowing Dean was going to pause the fight, because he had also seen his mouthpiece had fallen out, knew he could get ahead of Dean if he moved fast enough, so he did the flying knee.

It's not very complicated. So, obviously, no, the fight should not have been stopped.

Looked to me like Bisping was telling Dean that he was done. I could be completely wrong because I couldn't hear him, but that's what his actions looked like watching it live (I haven't seen a replay of him on the mat after the knee).

Also, the extra time is because the cage is suppose to be secure before access is granted. So if Silva is all over the cage, they have to secure the cage before they resume official duties to the next step.

And even then, after the fight resumed in the 4th ,bisping looked like roadkill and anderson didnt capitalize on it,because i think in his advanced age,he was too tired to do it. Anderson has no chance at regaining the title....hes not got it in him to he active enough in a 5 rder, and the game doesnt fear him any longer

We all know thats bullshit. Bisping wouod never say that. You think the guy risked blindness in one to verbalky tap out? Please.

Good hob handerson... Hesus...

Also good job silva pretending that eyepoke hurt him, calling the doctor giving bisping even more time, well done

Great excuses for not defending oneself.
