Should one (me) quit drinking?

I remember years ago I rarely drank. I had a security job on a zero hours bullshit contact which meant I could be called in for work for 05:30 am randomly.

My driving licence aloud me to work these random unexpected shifts.

Now, i appreciate having set hours in a different job.

It's why I love my job. As a partner we don't have to actually deal with out own network so I don't need to be on call. All of our customers have to take shifts of being on call and it doesn't matter if it's 2 am on a Sunday night they have to go in work on it when something goes down. I don't think I could ever do that.

My lungs are shot to fuck too. I don't have an ex smoker's cough anymore but a side effect of some meds I'm on have ruined them. So if I get it, the grim reaper's likely to have a field day with me.
