Should judges take into account that kickers inflict damage to themselves?

I think the other guy should win the round 11-10 for a showing like that.
And not only that. If a fighter breaks his hand on a punch it should be scored as a damaging technique for his opponent - perhaps a 10-7 round. And not only that.

We should actually stop scoring altogether and instead do a post fight in-octagon MRI on both fighters. Let the doctor determine who wins. It's irrelevant what happened during the fight when the MRI starts speaking. I believe and trust the science. It's time we all do.

In that situation I would actually say a broken face is worse than a broken hand, but if your strategy is literally to attack your opponent with kicks to damage their legs and restrict their movement yet you're the one bleeding out of your shins and hobbling around in pain, then in seems counterproductive

So we should make all fighters wear latex with "swelling monitors". It's the only objective way to measure who got hurt worse, the kicker or kickee.

Or, better yet, we just look at the fact that far more people have been finished by kicks than those who got finished by their own kick hurting themselves. I mean common sense goes a lot farther than a myriad of nonsensical scoring criterea.

I never say this, but / thread. You, sir, are a genius.

Standard doctor exams including MRI, X- ray and psych evals before a decision is announced. I mean can you really consider a KO a victory if the "winner" comes out more mentally broken than his opponent?

As per Sherdoggers, many have damage meters on their TVs or computer screens. Time to harness the power of the sherdog MMA damage meters.

Pro wrestling obviously, but Hogan headbutted Ultimate Warrior in their Wrestlemania match and hurt himself a lot more than Warrior.
Imagine if he headbutted one of the Head Shrinkers.

these guys need some old school kung fu conditioning. i want to see a grey strip of dead scar tissue from intense harmful conditioning up and down the whole chin of every fighter or we are just playing games here....

;)

Mason "The Line" Dixon broke his hand landing a clean shot to Balboa's hip. The shot has to be scored for Dixon, but it effectively gave Balboa his only chance.

Pain cannot be scored, but the hindrance to movement and inability to strike with the injured limb will impact the remainder of the fight, and therefore how it is scored.

Yeah and punching somebody in the face can break your hand. Best not score those either.

If you get a leg cramp during a triangle, did you get a sub or does your opponent get a drs stoppage. Whos to say?

Did you really win the round if you broke the guy's face but broke your hand in the process?

ehh, I think it's debatable.

Buddy of mine who used to fight mma got ktfo by a headkick and then bragged how he went to the aquarium the next day while the guy who kicked him was laid up in the hospital lol

Sometimes you can lose the fight but win the war. They are 1-1. Sounds like the trilogy is due between the 2.

Juges should lick fighters feet after the fight to gauge damage.

Shit. I totally overlooked the whole mental realm. And 50% of fighting is 90% mental. Wow, that's a big miss.

I like your plan. To make it super scientific, we should run the same battery of tests at the outset, before the match, and then again after. After all, they didn't necessarily start at the same level.

Then the doctor announces percentage decline in each measure for each fighter. Bruce pulls out the calculator and calculates the winner!!

Fkn gold!

I like it - a crowdsourcing angle.... do it on the blockchain for security and after every ppv release a commemorative cryto coin - UFC270coin, UFC271coin, etc....

Let’s up the ante and make groin shots count towards damage done. Sure it’s still illegal and you could lose a point, but if it’s hard enough and your opponent can’t continue that’s as good as a KO to me,
