Can't decide.

I started weaning off them without consulting my Doctor. This is the second time I've done this...it's perfectly safe...

Just can't decide if I want off them. I'm feeling real emotions again, but it's harder to love because of them.

Brain Chemistry is a crap shoot as far as the pharmaceutical industry is concerned. Best of luck to you homie

No. From personal experience, no. Consult the doctor.

Guaranteed your anxiety will come back .

Take my advice with a grain of salt, but I'd say you're doing the right thing. The medical industry want you to keep taking them so they can make money off of you, so your doctor likely won't support you lowering your dosage if he can help it.

I've never heard of antidepressants helping in the long run.

Yes. They help with a symptoms for a while but don't address the root cause. See if your insurance covers therapy visits and start cognitive behavioral therapy.

You should do what your doctor says or get a second opinion and do what that doctor says.

Cheer up.

I cut mine cold Turkey. The withdrawal was the best 2 weeks ill never remember.

It's hard to say, knowing nothing about you, your symptoms, your social history, other relevant medical history, the medication, it's dosage, eating and sleeping habits, your doctor, and your doctors clinical diagnoses. Pretty unethical to offer any advice without taking all those things into consideration. Regardless, best of luck. Out of curiosity, are you on an SSRI, an MAOI, or another type?

Need a better doctor then. Mine would never prescribe me something that I didn't need or was potentially harmful. I had to go through 3 or 4 doctors before I found him though.

What incentive could a doctor possibly have to prescribe an unnecessary antidepressant to a patient?

I'm biased against them, because for me personally, anti-depresssants have only made me feel extremely numb and didn't address any of the root problems. The actions I've taken did more for me than any antidepressant or shrink could.

If they're working in a positive way, I'd say not to.

I've never had a positive experience with antidepressants, but if I ever find one that works well enough for me to function better, I'd never stop taking them.

Unless the root cause is actual unbalanced brain chemistry. Not everyone with depression has trauma that can be treated by talking to someone.
