Should Gus fight Ilir for the interim title?

No.

Gus is 2:2 in his last 4 fights. His "best performances" in the octagon were all losses, that should tell you enough. Him and his fans should stop campaigning for a titleshot he doesn't deserve and instead focus on winning more fights.

Why should Gus fight Manuwa anyway when he has already KOd him before and Manuwa is on a two fight losing streak? Why should Gus fight Latifi when he KOd higher ranked Glover in his last fight?

Gus is ranked the 1st contender and he KOd the 2nd ranked contender in his last fight. That makes him more deserving for a title shot than any other LHW currently. You dont have to like it, but that is an objective truth.
 
No way. There’s no need for an interim title at LHW. The division isn’t really held up right now.

The fact that Latifi vs. Gus even makes sense to you is clear proof that LHW needs time to develop clear contenders.

Again, LHW is SUPER THIN. All it takes is one good win to get you into title talk at this stage.

I'm not saying they should fight right now. I was addressing the absurdity of the idea that 3 of the top 10 guys say they will never fight each other

So Gus vs Glover wasn't his best performance or you thought he lost that fight?..
 
It feels like Gus only fights once a year at most...the UFC does not need another inactive champ at the moment..

Why should the two best current fighters not fight for the interim belt while the champ is unavailable? Because gus beat old glover a long time ago???
