Should fighters with medical issues be allowed to take medications?

It's terribly straightforward. Inhalers are PEDS for people that can't perform without them. If you have asthma attacks when you fight, you shouldn't be fighting professionally.
Possibly the most misinformed statement Ive ever heard you might want to learn the difference between taking medication just to live normally and one that inhances you beyond the norm and you might want to learn the difference between a steroid and corticosteroid and inhalers do not enhance performance you stupid person believe me I know only two well on both counts now lets just leave it at that.

Are there actually fighters with asthma competing in the UFC?

Imagine breathing problems during a fight.

It's really surprising actually

In 2017 usada only issued two tue's for asthma medication. One of those was Gian Villante, we don't know the other (possibly emil meek as he has claimed to use asthma meds in the past)

Two out of my six hundred, is incredibly low

Other sports you see pretty much everyone waking around with an inhaler

inhalers do not enhance performance you stupid person.

That's very debatable. They are widely used by an awful lot of sports people .

Bear in mind it's not just the method but the drug. In many cases there are athletes using hi doses of the drug in the inhaler administered in other ways, injection for instance, for anything from weight loss to performance reasons and testing cannot differentiate between inhaled and injected.

Its not as simple as saying they aren't performance enhancing.

They are very very widely used and abused.

Which is why its surprising only two ufc fighters have tue's for them. Clearly the rest havnt learnt to play the game yet

*enhances

I know the differences. I also know that you are using the idea of 'normalcy' as if it implies that everyone 'should be' created equally, and that isn't the case. If you are born with deficiencies, handicaps, or any other disorder/disease that prevents you from this idea of 'normalcy' then it is ABNORMAL for you to be medically enhancing your abilities(even if that only means, to you, that they are just making up the difference between them and what you consider to be 'normal'). These people are born (naturally) on uneven footing, just like the rest of us that aren't as physically gifted as professional athletes.

Should fighters with no arms be allowed to use prosthetic limbs to fight?

Nate enjoys his medicine.

It's all or nothing. I am not against PEDS of any kind if someone wants to take them I don't care but I do care about the rules.

If something is against the rules than you don't do it.

If you cannot compete within the rule set that applies to everyone than there should be no exception. There is no right that says you have to be able to compete, if you cannot do it within the existing rule set no exception should be given for you. No one is holding a gun to your head and saying you have to do this, so if you cannot do it within the same rules as everyone else go do something else.

Life is not fair and never will be.

The difference between PEDs and an inhaler is that an inhaler doesn't give you more muscle mass and better recovery time from workouts.
Most asthma meds are bronciodiolators. These increase ability for oxygen to be take in in return heals your muscles. This can in fact be considered performance enhancing.

Performance enhancing to get you as close to normal as possible. Not the same as steroids for an athlete who is already healthy.
