Should Dana stop fighters crossing the line with attacks on family members?

It's a business

Whatever sells tickets and PPVs > Some phony morality

No. Let them say what they want to say.
Wasn’t Miguel Torres let go for saying “ rape van” about a rape van?

it's simple, say everything you want against your opponent, don't insult their family members.
If you do, some financial penalty, you keep doing it, your purse goes to the other guy and you wont' fight.
But it's not that simple.

"Your mom" jokes are classic trash talk, and childish as fuck, but nobody needs to be getting fined for a silly ass your mom joke. Under those parameters though, even that shit would be "over the line."

So like I said, the problem is where the line is drawn.

This is kinda where I'm at.

Say what you want, but if you cross a line and someone cracks you in the mouth, deal with it.
Nah. Words shouldn’t give you a right to assault someone.

Unless we want to open up the offended by everything crowd to start shanking people over pronouns.

Sticks and stones. Call em something worse or be the bigger person and walk away.

I probably say this because I'm small and weak lol but for me the ultimate victory over bullies and shit talkers was always not taking their shit to heart and having actual successes when I knew they'd just get themselves into deep shit eventually because of their behavior. Has worked out pretty well thus far.

PS: By small and weak I mean like I'm only 6'8" and 325 lbs, compared to standard Sherbro size, ya know

I couldn't disagree more.

But, folks with bigger mouths than asses to back them typically fully agree with you.

But yeah, you cross certain lines about certain people, I'm fucking you up. Play dumb games.

Dana is a fan of attacking family members

I still believe they both did staged that on purpose.

What's he going to do? Make them sit in the corner if they misbehave?

Or just garnishee their wages for using bad language?

Your feelings are blinding you sir.
This isn't a fucking board meeting its fuckin fighting.

You quite obviously have never seen Ricardo Mayorga.

Freedom of speech is being able to say what you want....the consequences of saying these things depends on the stage.

Try discussing next time instead of coming at me like a dickhead.
You resort to ad hominem and and have not said anything to refute my argument , I would say that makes you the dickhead.

There is no doubt that the more heated a pre -fight conflict gets, the more interest the fight will generate. And I feel Douche White is conveniently hiding behind the "this is the fight business" slogan fully realizing this fact.

I still think however that family members, especially dead ones, should be off limits and that is something Dana could enforce.

Do you guys that he should penalize fighters who do cross the line? I feel most fighters don't go there anyway , the two instances I know of are Colby and Conor, the asshole and the drunk.

Thoughts?

Yes he should.

No reason for this.

I don't think he should...Fans have the most control over what is and isn't deemed acceptable. Vote with your dollar. If you don't like these dudes saying grimey shit don't watch them, don't follow them on socials, don't buy PPVs that feature the guys. If you truly find what they say to be abhorrent boycott it.

Personally it doesn't bother me. I just think damn that was a pretty low thing to say...my mother would be embarrassed if I said something like that

The thing to do is not to ban verbal attacks on family members but to make sure to treat them appropriately. Someone goes full Colby (never go full Colby!), Dana should get right on the mike and say "that Colby, what a goddamned fucking loser. Just a tweener on the playground who hasn't learned how to properly talk shit yet. Talking about your opponent's dead father because you aren't bright enough to talk shit about your opponent? Just fucking pathetic."

A good disdainful shaming from the boss would be vastly more effective than a ban.

Not only Dana White and the UFC, but law enforcement, possibly a judge and congress should get involved as well. People's feelings at getting hurt!
