Since I was young I've known drug addicts and dealers. Both can be the biggest dirt bags in our society.
I feel that if we at least made all drugs legal the tax revenue could be spent on recovery and public goods. The drug dealers would stop making such an absurd profit and cycles of violence would stop.

We've tried controlling substances for a long ass time perhaps we let people choose for themselves for once.

Decriminalize simple possession and legalize possession of weed and allow people to grow their own but not sell it.

Considering the war on drugs is a massive failure and it's immoral to jail people for non-violent drug offenses, fuck yeah.

Portugal doing fine with decriminalization of all drugs.

In short yes... Set up clean and sanitary areas for people to inject their heroin. Laws don't stop people from doing drugs so the least we can do it limit the spread of disease as a result

It would be welcomed. Nothing like a speedball to get the day started....and to keep it going. Best legal combo we've got now is some good ol' adderal+percocet.

But seriously, legalize it all. Regulate and tax the shit idc.

Yep... Just like alcohol, cigarettes etc... Tax it, regulate it and make some $$ of that shit

No one does Meth because it's illegal, they don't do Meth because it's fucking Meth

decriminalized for sure, not sure about legal for sale other than weed.

Don't care too much for the added tax revenue... because fuck taxes.

Yes, legalize them and regulate them. History has proven prohibition does not work.

I don't want to live in a country where Krokodil, Meth and Bath Salts are legal.

Why not? Do you believe more people would start using?
I think a good argument can be made that if a portion of the tremendous amount of money that is spent on law enforcement, legal proceedings and jailing drug offenders went into helping people with addictions instead we could really see a significant positive change in drug abuse. Additional money would come from the taxation of drugs in addition to income tax revenue from businesses. I could think of a bunch of better ways to spend that cash.

The success in Portugal is more than just decriminalizing drugs. Treatment is a major key, but the gov't is also subsidizing businesses to hire former addicts. A business will hire the addict and the gov't will help pay his/her salary. This helps develop a sense of purpose and allows a second chance at employment a lot of Americans do not have due to past drug use.

The anti legalization squad just don't understand this. They think if legalized, 80 year old grandmas would start doing heroin. Then they get all pissy once their code of conduct gets questioned in the sense that the only thing holding them back from doing shitty/dumb thing is the law. But I digress.

I don't try cocaine not because it is legal, but because from what I've heard I would real, real, like it. Sort in the say way I don't by boxes of Hostess Cupcakes. In know those would never survive a night.

Are you saying you can control yourself without the threat of punishment to control your urges? That's crazy talk! Reported.

You not believe this but I don't really believe in God...and don't go around kill and raping people.

I'm not sure how I feel about legalizing hard drug tbh but I consider those the worst ones. They have the worst side effect as far I know. It's brutal. I'm not ok with the government legalizing a drug that rots the skin and turn the person into a zombie. Just google Krokodil and tell me if you want the government saying yeah, go ahead use that shit.
