Shotgun Questions

I don't see why not.

Don't they load from the rear to the receiver? Where would you block it?
Did some quick research and this seems to be a popular, yet unanswered question?
But my question is why hunt with a 18.5 inch barrel?

Im sure there is nothing wrong with Maverick (it is just a cheaper quality Mossberg), but you can get a Mossberg 500 for mid 200 if you look around. TONS of accessories for the 500 too...

what percentage of wear???

It was used for 3 years of competitive 4H sporting clays. But very well maintained. Serviced yearly (while competing) by a Beretta guy. Since that it has been stored for 10 years. I am just looking for a general range to see if the value will exceed the sentimental attachment she has with the gun (which there is only a little, but it is there).

Its hard to say. Go to gunbroker.com and type in your gun on the auctions search. It will give you a better idea of what your working with...

maverick shotgun is ok , same as mossberg ,, but you cant compare it to a binelli or even a remington , i have all 3 , mossberg action is stiff and clunky , and i wouldnt recomned it for any type of fast shooting , maybe for turkey , or even deer slugs its ok , but for any type of wing shooting or skeet , lots of luck .

on a side note , i took my mossberg pump apart and with a scotch brite pad , sanded and lubricated all the sliding mechanisms on the inside of reciever ,it seems to have an overspray or heavy film on moving parts in there , it helped alot , its much smoother now , but far from my binelli , you cant beat the price of the gun though ,

IMHO there is not much difference between an 870 and 500 pump. I went Mossberg due to the location of the safety. I shoot lefty, and the Mossberg safety on the top of the receiver makes it more user friendly for me vs the remington's trigger gaurd location.

Random, slightly off topic side note, yesterday, I learned to appreciate a front bead sight. The first time I fired a shotgun, it had just the bead and I hated it...but that was before I learned how to shoot with both eyes open. Now that I can shoot with both eyes open, the bead sight is frigging awesome for the kind of shooting I do with my shotgun right now (i.e. indoor, offhand shooting).

lol wut?

All I use are Mossberg pump action guns for shooting waterfowl and I'm pretty damn good at it.

They're not the same, Mossbergs are made in the US, Mavericks are made in Mexico (I think some are assembled in the US from parts made in Mexico). The parts are not totally interchangeable.

Does anyone know if they make plugs for extended tubes? I want to put an extended tube on mine for a couple more rounds, but if i want to use it for hunting I would have to take it off or get a plug.

After reading up on it I would say it will not meet the three round maximum (is that nationwide or just my state?).
But even if legal, it is an 18.5 barrel with a maximum effective range of 50 yards with slugs.
Also, why are so many guns that are in video games get so much real life talk?
man, 600 bucks is a lot for a shotgun.

Look at what the KSG is selling for on gunbroker.com

Over $1000, some over $1500. Ridiculous.

its just a simple wooden dowel rod. Go to an arts and crafts store, even walmart for that matter and pick one up thats longer and reuse the rubber stoppers.

have you tried shooting a binelli pump at those ducks , i have both of those types of shotguns and when i go duck hunting or pheasant the mossberg stays at home .

I saw that yesterday. That's nucking futs. They want double retail for that damn thing. I can get one at my LGS for $550 right now, if I had the extra $$$ at the moment.

Yeah, it's retarded. I was going to get one, but I'm not paying anywhere near a grand for one. I can wait.

Same here. If I miss this batch, I'm sure they'll get more by the time I decide to buy one.

Of course you always just make one out of an 870.

I wouldn't mind owning a ksg, but I dot have a semi auto shotgun so I may save up for the benelli m4 one day instead.

It costs $279, and you can get a basic 18.5" 870 for $250, so it's actually cheaper than the KSG.
