Once Paddy fights someone who can stop a takedown and has above average striking though the hype train will get derailed.

I agree, but I see several in here talking about the "hype train" coming to an end. I think of a hype train as when tons of people say a fighter is future champ or whatever, versus just a really popular fighter like Paddy. Are many on here really thinking he's future champ or anything?

This is intended to be a showcase fight for Paddy. Gordon is a middle of the pack guy that isn’t particularly great at anything and isn’t particularly dangerous. I think Paddy is getting near his ceiling though. Nothing I’ve seen from him indicates to me he can compete at the top of the division. He has slightly above average grappling but not the best ability to get it there and below average striking.

It's kinda funny that Paddy is fighting a dude that has the nickname Flash Gordon, but Paddy is the one who's rocking that Flash hairstyle unlike Jared who looks absolutely nothing like Flash.

I think Pimblett is overated as hell, one of the worst prospects that I've seen from Europe.

He's decent, but his abilities don't match one fifth of the hype he has going on.

If Gordon can avoid getting hurt, I think Gordon wins. I think he can and will beat Paddy.

I like Paddy though, so hope he pulls it off.

I like Paddy but I think he lacks talent. Gordon's chin is kinda questionable so hopefully Paddy can find that chin. If he doesn't, I got Gordon.

I like Paddy and I don't think it is. I don't think much of Sugar either, but they gave him squash matches. Gordon would have been the toughest fight for Sugar, Yan included, since match ups make fights, if they were the same size. Yan. got robbed, but I thought it was a win-win fight for Sugar, since he's a pretty talented guy on the feet. Someone like Gordon would have been major challenge for Sean, but with a title shot on the horizon, he never once had to face someone like that.

But, Gordon is chinny, so there's that.

The fact that Paddy is actually a Sherdogger makes me like him more and just because of that I'll always root for him.

Tougher fight for Pimblett than you'd first think - Gordon has beaten a couple of good BJJ guys recently. But it's still favourable, I'll take Paddy to have a rough 1.5 rounds but come on strong and have the more 'memorable' moments to win a close decision.
