Hey Mike I found this on Adobe forums. It does work with the transform tool when you are zoomed in 200% and have unchecked Photoshop Preferences > General > Snap Vector Tools and Transforms to Pixel Grid. It moves things at half a pixel. Glad you asked cause it made me look it up.

As far as I know, a pixel is the lowest measurement you can use for a bit-mapped image in an editor like Photoshop. If you use Flash, it does not treat the bitmap like a bitmap all the time. You can move the image in less than pixel increments in Flash. I use Flash to make some of my gifs just for that reason, plus the tweening is light years ahead of Photoshop.

Currently using a shareware version of Sothink SWF Quicker. For w/e reason it hasn't expired in the 3 months or so that I have been using it. Only problem is that it puts a scrolling watermark at the top. My workaround is that I make the 'canvas' 200px higher than needed. This way the scrolling watermark is not scrolling on the good parts of the animation. To crop out the watermark, I import the .avi to Photoshop or sometimes import the .swf into After Effects.

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to know (and I'm too lazy to do the googling myself)!

I love playing with PS but man is there a crap ton to learn. At least that's one less thing I now have to learn.

I haven't played in Flash since back before Adobe bought it (15 years ago? Back when it was owned by Macromedia, IIRC). Flash's tweening is way easier, but I'm trying to keep my learning focused to just a few programs (currently PS and Illustrator) otherwise I get overwhelmed (which happens anyway).

As it is, I'm sure I'm not making my gifs the most efficient way possible (frame by frame which seems less than ideal!) but it is pretty fun (if sometimes tedious).

Cool workaround for the watermark!

Does Rogan know about this thread? I know he doesn't like Sherdog, but it would be a great shame if he didn't see this. I think he'd get a laugh out of it.
