It's true, I'd probably do something funny/lighthearted to contribute if a simple template (like the Silva's gumby leg or Big Nog's arm).

Animation is way outside my wheelhouse though.

Basic animation is not that hard really it just takes some patience. I don't know much either, only the very basic tools. Lots of tutorials online too. Btw check out the Meisha template i posted above. I guess i should have done that a lot earlier.

As I guess I'm the first mod weighing in on this thread, I will say this. This thread is fine. It is not obscene, objectionable, offensive, or anything other than sad for Holly fans. It breaks no sherdog rules that I can find. Everyone loses. Your favorite fighter will one day lose, and more than likely will have their losing face photoshopped into something funny. It's a fact of life. Everyone can be shooped. No one has an immunity from photoshop. It's unfortunate that the templates are rough and difficult to work with, so hopefully someone can put a decent one together to use.

If anything, some of you upset by this thread can hope that the UFC puts together Holm vs Tate 2 at UFC 200 like is rumored, and also hope that Holly wins in devastating fashion or forces Miesha to make a face that you can then shoop after.

Otherwise, there is no need to report this thread as a whole. If someone posts something objectively offensive/graphically sexual/otherwise prohibited, feel free to report as normal.

What's funny is that they keep trying to get people to make shoops, but no one wants to and that makes them salty.

Are you trying to argue that most of the shoopers think Holly deserves more respect than Fedor & Big Nog? And that shoopers only shoop those they don't like/respect?

I don't know what motivates a person with the skills to shoop. I only know that whatever it is, it doesn't seem to exists in large quantities when it comes to Holly.

I obviously can only speak for myself, but here are my thoughts on possible reasons for the paltry number of Holly shoops.

1. Contrary to popular belief, shooping doesn't pay all that well. As an Shooping Intern I dont even get paid, and from what I hear the Shoop Gods only make mid 6 figures.
2. Comments like those I quoted above do little to make me want to spend the time shooping (a simple 20 frame gif shoop, like the one I posted ITT earlier, can take over an hour and high quality longer gifs like some of the shoops done for the International Shoop League can take 10+ hours of work). A person needs to be motivated/passionate to dedicate that amount of time to something.
3. Template(s) need to be inspiring (and well made). For me the biggest challenge is always thinking up an idea and the Holly templates just don't lend themselves to massive amounts of creative ideas (for me at least). For example, it's not an overly goofy facial expression like a Shadface or the IC. And merging a gif with another gif can be significantly more time consuming than just 2 separate gifs.
4. I shoop for the fun of it, and if I'm not going to enjoy it, I'll pass.
5. The recent flood of shoop threads really makes it hard to get excited about yet another one.

I'm sure other shoopers have different reasons, but those are some of my thoughts.

To the people bitching about lack of shoops, I invite you to do some yourself. Almost all Sherdog Shoopers are self-taught (as am I) and it's not that hard to pick up the basics. There's even a tutorial thread here on Sherdog, and of course there's literally THOUSANDS of tutorials online to help.

Also, all the shoopers I've interacted with have been amazingly helpful to each other, so if you have questions just ask!

TL/DR: Bitching about a lack of shoops won't get you shoops.

The thing is you're actually really good at making shoops the people in this thread fucking suck and aren't even funny. Keep up the good work though all of your shoops are hilarious and amazingly well done!
