What software are you using? You should be able to switch the color mode to RGB to edit it and switch back to indexed when you're done.

In both GIMP & Photoshop, go to the IMAGE menu, then the MODE submenu

Also, if you're using GIMP, check the tutorial thread for a tutorial I made that will get rid of that color bleeding you have on that gif. It also covers color modes with a little more depth.

I use gimp. It kept saying that I wasn't able to use the options on rgb but I haven't really liked at the sherdog tutorials. I'll give it a shot on that link and will revise it; Thanks much:)
