Yeah he gave us a lof of potential memes, like the speech on the ship, the whole “nucular” pronunciation thing, and so on. The memeing would have been INSANE in the current era.

Oh and you got me remembering about french fries being renamed freedom fries, and french wine being poured down the drains by people, because of France not wanting to go along with general what’s his name’s lies at the UN.

Come to think of it, it’s not too different from today in terms of people being riled up about this or that. Maybe it was just more tame as there was less internet and the population of developed countries was younger overall. Now everywhere it’s majority middle-age and boomers, so everything is cranky and complaints. Thankfully, there are shoops like yours to brighten the days!
