Shogun-Sonnen 2 will be like Shogun-Forrest 2

People keep up bringing up that shogun is 4-0 in rematches, but thats the thing i dislike about him. he is and has always been inconsistent, he doesnt always show up to fight, but he always says he does, made for some pretty bad showings imo.

Nice try Loser, but I never said the title was the only necessary determinant. Troll better or quit posting.

As demonstrated by my 2 previous post, I answered your question. Do I have to answer it for a 3rd time and make you look worse or do you get it now?

You've looked like a fool throughout this thread and I'm sorry I ever bothered trying to engage in polite discourse with you.

Don't know if Shogun can defend the initial shot and create space to strike effectively

Chael would win again, it was nice to see Shogun pick up the big win with some violence, but lets not forget he was fighting Te Huna, who thought it was a good idea to run forward and throw a upper cut with his hands down.

Yeah, that wasn't exactly a fight that screamed out "I need a rematch!"

Shogun did look much better last night obviously. But there's no reason for that rematch any more than a Sonnen/Shad rematch.

shogun is 4-0 in rematches.. and every one has ended in KO

Did any of those fighters handle Shogun in their first fights as easily as Chael did in theirs?

FTR Chael is comfortably top ten at LHW - the elite would have his number though - Jones, Gus, Rashad, probably DC, maybe Glover though that would be interesting. Same with Davis. I have him beating the rest of the current LHW roster.

chael is not a better fighter, hes a way better talker tho which confuses most of the mma fans these days that come from watching wwe.
theyre both amazing at what they do, getting caught in a choke that early do4esnt really tell us much. if they fought 10 times do you guys really think chael wins that fight 10 times in a row cuse he caught shogun in a choke?
and let me ask you this, how many of you actually train and realize how easy it can be to get caught in a choke by a high level guy?

Well, here's what you're ignoring. Chael has more than 1 way to win. I sorely doubt he would submit Shogun again (and I'm still unsure how he did it the first time). However, most people who were picking Chael believed he would win via UD. He certainly possesses the strength and technique to muscle Shogun around and tire him out.

So while Chael likely wouldn't win the same way, it's very possible that he could win again. Just like I doubt Weidman KOs Silva standing again, but he could TKO him or submit him on the ground.

And just out of curiosity, do you believe that Shogun's quick KO of Te Huna told us anything?

I hate when Shogun wins because the fanboys come out and scream how "hes back!".

If that's all they would do then I would be fine with it. There is a subset that react to the mildest criticism like you threatened their boyfriend.

Good post. And Beating Te Huna didn't prove anything other than the fact Shogun can still knock out anybody who remains stationary & keeps their hands down. Sonnen would win again

There's no probably about it. Cormier is used to wrestling much larger men than Chael. Chael relies heavily on being the stronger, more physically imposing man (his technique is great too). Cormier is the superior athlete and the superior technician. He could submit Chael, ragdoll him for 5 rounds, TKO him on the ground, or KO him standing.

Glover would make Chael work very hard for TDs, and I doubt Chael wants to be on the ground with him anyway. Glover would hurt him. The Davis fight would be very intriguing though.

No one is asking for a rematch. Chael is still the better fighter.

How can you even say something like that, Sonnen is a great wrestler and mediocre everywhere else, Shogun has a far more diverse skill set and it's pretty fuckin unlikely he would let Cheal catch him again, he probably didn't even consider it a possibility the first time around.

Also Shogun got on top of Sonnen, you don't want that happening very often because you usually don't get back up when it does.

Obviously this fight was to short to really draw any conclusion whether or not his cardio has improved but he looked sharper then he has in a while and was actually throwing kicks for a change so who knows.

I certainly wouldn't bet the farm on Cheal beating him again and I don't think any rational person would either.

So Shogun quit against a guy that's mediocre everywhere else but wrestling. So he was submitted from a mediocre submission. I conclude from this that Shogun is mediocre himself, or worse. Every insult you throw at Chael comes back on Shogun two-fold. Continue, fanboys.

Man, I appreciate Shogun's career, but you fanboys are just ridiculous and silly people.

I bet you all cried and bro hugged until it got awkward and you all can't make eye contact ever again.

Chael would outman him again. The styles are just very bad against Shogun.

Just because he caught his opponent in the first few exchanges doesn't mean he is back. Even if he was in prime form, Chael would take him down, and your idol would be manhandled and subbed, decisioned, or sliiiight chance of TKO. Guy has a chin, no doubt.

Then you couldn't bro hug and cry anymore because of your awkward past.

THIS.
And what did Shogun do AT ALL to Sonnen?? NOTHING.
