Shogun-Sonnen 2 will be like Shogun-Forrest 2

Yes, "partnah," you could actually answer my question. You said:

So again, I ask, how does Shogun being champion three years ago make him a better fighter than Sonnen today? I'm just trying to "be real about it," is all.

OK, Shogun won the title, Sonnen had 3 undeserved tries and couldn't do it. Shogun fights under pressure, Sonnen folds.

1. Shogun is currently at 500 while Sonnen is below 500
2. Shogun is currently 1-0 while Sonnen is 0-1 since there fight
3. Sonnen is behind a desk, Shogun is winning fights

anything else partnah???

1. who cares? Sonnen defeated Shogun head to head
2. Shogun is currently 0-1 against Sonnen while Sonnen is 1-0 against Shogun
3. Sonnen owned Shogun, Shogun has since won A fight

I agree

Yes

Now you're not only being a moron, but a revisionist.

First Title Fight - He beat Yushin Okami and Nate Marquardt back to back, #2 and #3 guys at MW.

Second Title Fight - Nearly beat Anderson Silva (stock was super high), came back to beat Brian Stann (#5) and Michael Bisping (#3).

OK, so you're going to retract your statement that Shogun being champion three years ago somehow the only necessary determinant of who the better fighter is today? That's cool. If you're willing to admit you're wrong I'm not going to be a jerk about it.

Cheers. :)

What are you guys even arguing about, who would win a rematch or who has had a better career? Obviously, Shogun has had a much more impressive career. As to who would win the rematch, I don't even want to comment. I have a hard time understanding how the first fight went down the way it did.

No one is asking for a rematch. Chael is still the better fighter.

Woah woah woah ! I would say chael has what it takes to beat shogun because stylistically he's a bad matchup for him I don't know about a better fighter

and Sonnen has since lost A fight

which means absolutely, positively nothing when it comes to who is the better fighter.
It was nice seeing Shogun get back on track against a lower tier fighter but to use that as a gauge of his chances against Sonnen is laughable at best. He had nothing in the first fight & he would have nothing in a rematch. He was owned. Tough pill to swallow?

This.

if Shogun is so good in rematches, why are you talking about another Chael fight? get him in there with Jonny Bones for fuck sake.

and NEW lhw champ..........

yeah, NO. he looked good in this fight, lets just leave it at that.

They're talking Chael because winning one fight doesn't get a title shot buddy. I'm 100% sure Shogun would take the rematch with Bones. You think he scared or something? lol

Even if he wins this fight doesn't make much sense...chael defeat him soundly but at the same time chael is irrelevant at LHW.

Word, and what did he do to "earn" his title fight against Jon Jones? I'm waiting...

1. I forgot that part were Shogun has won a UFC title and Chael never will

2. Shogun is 6-6, Chael is 7-8 (below 500) in UFC

3. Shogun is 1-0 since the Sonnen fight, Chael is 0-1

4. Run tell dat

Nice try Loser, but I never said the title was the only necessary determinant. Troll better or quit posting.

Not at all tough to swallow, Shogun's resume allow will forever outshine Sonnen's whole career.

Well wait a minute

So first you were debating a rematch, now that has failed & you're jumping ship to who has had a better career? Shogun has had the better career. In a head to head matchup Sonnen is the better fighter.

The Shogun fanbase has, once again, proven itself to be the most delusional and most insufferable fanbase there is.

We literally have a Shogun fanboy bragging that Shogun is 1-0 and Sonnen is 0-1. Insanity. They can't appreciate a win when they get it. Instead, they have to denigrate his opponent and make excuses for his losses. They used the same smear tactics to hurt Machida's reputation.

So I guess Matt Serra is a better fighter cuz he made GSP tap to strikes? MMA math don't work.

Some one asked the question and I answer, with facts.
