Shogun performance was good!

Shogun won fair and square. Anderson barely made it out of the first round, got saved by the bell on the second round and by the third round Anderson only answer was to wall n stall because of the fear of getting knocked out. Shogun actually has won 2 fights in a row. Can we stop acting like he had a terrible performance?

I was worried he'd get demolished, so he definitely exceeded expectations. I also had him winning and was surprised it was controversial. Second round could have gone to Corey, but the most significant thing that happened in the round (and I don't mean 'significant strikes') was Shogun dropping him at the end and following up. I had Shogun up two rounds. I understood Corey's first TD, get himself the round just in case the judges gave him the second round, but when he kept going for the decision after that, I was thrilled that Shogun got the nod. Corey did not do what he needed to do to assure a win.

As for Shogun, it was a good performance for where he is in his career, but he's a shell of himself.

he did mention after that he was a fulfilled man. Grand prix winner, UFC LHW champion and multiple Fight of the night/years? Fulfilled. So naturally I guess the fire can only burn so much. There's plenty of good matches out there for him(Bader, Rashad, Jimi).

am still hoping he retires soon though.

Ya it was really nice to see him get the win. Defenitely one of my favourite fighters to watch. Allthou the truth is that he has lost the things that was his streghts in the past. The conditioning and endurance was Shoguns streghts before lately its been his weekness. But he did not do bad. Only gassed in the third round where alot of other fighters also would have gassed.

If he could actually bring his conditioning up to a higher lvl like really high he would again be a force at LHW. But even thou he looked like in the best shape in a looong time i doubt he will improve much more beyond this point. But Its's awesome to still see him perform at this lvl in 2016 !
