An injury has forced Mauricio "Shogun" Rua off the upcoming FOX UFC Fight Night card in Tampa, so Glover Teixeira has stepped up to face Rashad Evans in a featured bout on April 16.

UFC officials confirmed the changes to FOX Sports on Wednesday.

Teixeira accepted the fight coming off a pair of very impressive performances in his last two fights inside the Octagon.

The Brazilian wiped out top prospect Ovince Saint Preux in their main event fight last August before he did the same to Patrick Cummins when they met in November.

Now the former title contender will look to add another signature win to his record as he blazes a trail back to the top of the light heavyweight division.

God, if Shad can't beat Bader, he ain't beating GLOVERIA

I thought it was the country of Gloveria Vs Rashad.. Tough fight.

I hope Rashad actually throws punches this time. His last performance was so poor.

very good news
a win over shogun means nothing but decimating glover is still a legitimate win and puts rashad back in the top 5

Meh, not as excited for this fight. Glover should win this easily.

Rashad just doesn't seem to be interested in getting back to the top anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires after this fight regardless of the result.

Any news on what the injury is? Shogun is one of my two original fanboy fighters but frankly I really think he hasn't got much more to offer :(

Gloveria TKO's Rashida in the 2nd round IMO.

Decent fight though, but I fear Rashida is on the decline.

I'm a HUGE shogun fan but I didn't really wanna see this one. I could foresee LnP Rashad making a return. Glover is a much more interesting fight and a lot better rounded.
