I just started training BJJ, and the cotton shirts I usually wear while working out are getting stretched while practicing/rolling. Does anybody have recommendations for what kind of shirts to wear for no-gi BJJ? What kind of fit (tight, loose, does it matter) and material would be good?

Thanks,

Buy some rash-guards, or at the very least a compression style shirt.

They're way more comfortable than wearing a cotton t-shirt.

Budovideos.com sometimes has rash-guards on their one-deal-at-a-time sale.

definitely recommend a rashy
tight fitting is the way to go
then you won't get tangled up and so sweaty and you will slide more easily (shrimp drill in T-shirt = hell
I am soon to get one just waiting on some spare $
even when I got fight shorts instead of using board shorts I noticed a huge difference in freedom of movement etc

Rashguards for sure but if you aren't sold on wearing a compression top yet I would get some under armour workout t's in the smallest size that will fit you. Last thing you want in BJJ when you are sopping wet is to have the cotton shirt hanging and catching on limbs.
