I’m a blackbelt in jiu jitsu and i think Aoki is better on the ground. BJ was a better cage fighter, but Shinya’s game was much more dangerous on the ground. BJ had great sweeps and backtakes off his back, but he hardly was dangerous from a submission perspective. Aoki had that, plus more dynamic passing and top control. BJ had the better gnp and chain wrestling, but Aoki would probably win a grappling match.

BJ mixed it up better.
