Whether big or small, what did you make of Ronda's admission of having suicidal thoughts on Ellen? I think it's always good to hear from people who may have been to those dark places Ronda's has been to and get a different perspective.

Personally having dealt with a few demons myself i saw a woman totally broken from the experience and i honestly fear for her both in the lead up and the aftermath of the rematch should it take place and she loses in the same fashion.

This is why i hope the UFC leaves no stone unturned in making sure she is ready for it both physically and mentally before she steps into the cage again...i really think she should have two fights before facing Holm again but money is the ruler in this game and apparently Ronda doesn't mind that being the case.

this thread is too deep for the heavies.

take it to the mayberry !

White knight.

She should be fine. She just needs to make sure Travis freezes some sperm, in case she loses again and they break up.

yeah when i split up with my gf i didnt go out partying the first weekend, the Saturday i went out but Friday i stayed home

I'm mentally depressed every time I go on sherdog and have to read threads like this

The way she told the story was ridiculous and possibly even dangerous. The whole thing about looking up at her fairly recent romantic partner and decided she has to live because she wants his babies was a bit outrageous to me. The message should be to seek treatment and support if you're struggling with these issues, not to tie your self esteem and will to live to whoever you're banging at the time.

I do. Not claiming to be an expert on mental health but I'll give my tuppence worth: I can relate to her world falling apart (after the loss) and feeling pressure after it - obviously nowhere near the same level as her. But from reading extracts from her book, it seems like her father being paralysed and then commiting suicide laid the foundation for her to maybe think that to solve a problem was to think about killing herself.

I find the people mocking her for supposedly shedding crocodile tears and looking for sympathy as just people who want to stick the boot in for their own pleasure. I get why Rousey comes across as not a likeable person, but I'm pretty sure she's never done anything on the majority of people giving her abuse.

Every person experiences problems his or her own way. What can be perceived as dramatic for one person is laughable for the other. I feel for her, she is 100% invested in the sport. I would deal with it differently but can't judge her, it's her burden to bear.

Combat PTSD here...

Yeah Ronda deals with a couple of things, I'm sure. Her childhood... growing up with physical limitations (speech), dealing with what happened with her dad, being socially ostracized for her multi-ethnic heritage, the pressures of the Olympics... she's not a simple girl.

Also, I don't think she's addressing or treating any it, but who knows.

Come on guys no need to mock. I'm far from an RR fan but i just wanted to have an open discussion with those who may have a little idea of where she is coming from after her admission...that's all.

I have legitimately been diagnosed as a psychopath. Its a serious problem apparently, I have learned over the years to just manufacture the correct emotional response I am supposed to feel about something but I can tell you, inside, nothing...care very little about anything, emotionally speaking. Its caused me alot of stress and problems in the past when dealing with people as I have an explosive violent temper too which occurs when I can't understand what empathetic emotion I should be manufacturing at any given time.

Mental illness in my opinion can be just as damaging as physical ones and infact poor mental health can lead to poor physical health rather easily.

Ronda however is a millionaire who was sitting on top of the world built on false hype she didn't bother to investigate or question was true, rather, she reinforced that delusion and now she comes out all boo-hooing to the media? Too bad, mental illness I know all about how it destroys the person you could have been but she enjoyed living in her own, vast self delusion, backed up by cronies like Dana, Rogan and Edmund....thats why she is broken...screw her...I would actuall feel a little bit bad for her if I were not incapable of feeling empathy.

She needs to keep stuffing herself with bad food.
Otherwise the children won't be healthy.
