It seems like year after year the number of my friends interested in MMA have been dwindling. Many of them that were hardcore fans 10+ years ago have become casuals to not caring at all. Hell, I asked a couple of my long time "MMA friends" out to watch the fight last weekend and they had no idea there was even a card let alone who the current HW champion was.

Anyone else seeing this happening to friends around them?

Even though there are a bunch of morons on this forum...fuck you're all I have left.

Then go out witta bang TS

It’s only going to get worse the way things are going. I don’t know anybody in real life that watches. Literally only one person since I moved to the US. And, he died two years ago.

Been like that a few years now...alls good broseph

Me an 3 friends would drink, play card during prelims and smoke bud. Talking shit to each other during Condit vs Diaz, cerrone vs Diaz, jds vs cain, Fedor vs hendo, aldo vs mcgregor and a bunch others.

Can't get others to go to wild wings with me so just check em oh by myself.

I kinda grew less interested in MMA myself, not sure if thats a generation change with many of the old faves retiring and deteriorating, or the clownshow that UFC titles have become

OP you should join a martial arts gym of some sort. I was the same way for years until I joined the gym, yet I still come on here only because I don't have much time to socialize with them.

I think both me and all of my friends who follow MMA have gone from hardcore to casual over the years. It's easy to blame the UFC or WME or 'money fights,' interim belts or whatever else but ultimately I think you spend enough time watching something and it loses a bit of its luster. I still enjoy the fights. I still get excited when there is a matchup I want to see, but if I've got dinner plans that mean I'm going to miss the fights... I'll read about them ad/or watch the highlights when I get home. No big deal.

I only have 1 mma friend and he only watches the big ppvs. He's also a wwe fan so you do the math lol

Sherdog is all a man needs sometimes

They all into Tide Pods and Bitcoins now

Sherdog has conditioned me to argue over aggressively in the real world. Some one will be like hey you watching UFC this weekend? And I’m like Souza should have got the title shot a long time ago, can’t stand the way the middleweight division was handled for the past two years....
