I can deal with it being 3-1 Whittaker going to the 5th round (2-2 is fair also) but no possible justification for round 5 not being 10-8. Even under the old rules that's supposed to be 10-8, he was both hurt in and dominated throughout that round. And in fact the new rules were actually in place which is supposed to be less restrictive, what happened to that?

Romero lost. He missed weight and lost to a guy with one hand. Having previously lost to the same guy when he had one leg. There were no 10 - 8 rounds. Romero just landed a couple of good shots in both rounds 3 and 5 but failed to follow up in any serious manner. Whittaker easily took the other 3 rounds and 2 judges correctly gave him the 48 - 47 scorecard he deserved.
