I know there's a few old school UO players on here.
The few that know what UO was, knew it was way ahead of its time and set the bar for open world MMORPGS. Its kill anyone, craft everything, housing, and loot everything type of gameplay made relationships with people a real thing. Unfortunately, every MMO that came out after that was some carebear sissy shit that separated PvP players from PvE nubs.
Shards Online is in pre-Alpha and is the spiritual successor to Ultima Online in almost every way.
Much more of a sequel to UO than that shitty game Shrouds of the Avatar. While it's still really early in development, its far beyond anything else trying to replicate UO.
