Great. Sergei will build his reputation beating up way-past-their prime guys. Next up after Stipe: Arlovski. After that, maybe a 260-pound Cormier can do Tank Abbott's "unretire and come right off a barstool thing" and fight totally out of shape. Except Cormier will probably get up out of a booth at Popeye's or chair at Krispy Kreme instead of a barstool.

Sergey needs a name to beat and Stipe needs money for his retirement.

The fight makes sense as i believe Sergey can take it.

As a full time professional (fire) fighter, I don't think Stipe is in need of retirement money fights.

Stipe would wait 3 years until they pick for a title shot to come back. He's pretty much accomplished as much as he will in his career and doesn't have anything else to prove. Winning the title again for a third time would be kind of redundant and he's stil 1-1 with Ngannou, which is better than getting KO'd again in another rematch. He shouldn't be taking that much damage at his age.
