Sefo and WSOF will screw Marlon Moraes badly

GOD NO! Releases Arlovski and Rumble and some other guy who got released by wsof and signed to the UFC all in the space of one day.

Plus the finical ties between the owners of wsof and zuffa

Exactly, you can't convince me the whole organization isn't some borderline scam used to lower fighters salaries but keep the door open for a return in a time of need or after they are fed some easier opponents at a cheaper dollar to see if they can rebuild their hype.

I will believe they hold a fighter "hostage" from the UFC when I believe it; this is just trying to give the appearance that they are not in bed together.

Lmao. Right.

They only released Arlovski. Rumble's contract expired. As for Arlovski, dude was above and beyond they're most expensive fighter (for his first fight he made 30+30 and the price probably only went up everytime he won). He wasn't drawing people in either. The card headlined by Branch and Taylor did better ratings. There was no point of in paying him for 1 last fight.

They have rights to match any fighter, they didn't on 2 of their best.

There's a reason they didn't get signed by bellator

Do they? Is that an established thing?
And even if so, I can't imagine they would have tried to match Johnson's 53-53 deal (at least that's what he's reported to have made against Lil Nog) . I mean that's almost twice as much as they pull in on gate.
Also, don't forget this was going on when the Alvarez-Bellator thing was happening. WSOF managed to sign a lot of quality prospects because Bellator made themselves look like the bad guy.
Imagine if the WSOF had done that at the same time. Just saying, there are a lot of other factors that go into these types of decisions.

I knew this would happen. I knew they would be reluctant to release their homegrown talent. They've spent time and money investing in this kid and you expect them to just let him go? Yeah right it's not gonna happen that way. He's in WSOF until his contract is done

The kid signed a contract prior to his last fight. His previous contract had two fights left on it.. He and his management team decided to keep him put for the time being. Though we will see him in the UFC eventually.

World Series arent running enough shows, that's whats going to be detrimental to Marlon. He needs to get more fights in (3, potentially 4 a year) so contract renewals come up more often

Guess my sentence explains their promotion

I guess you actually sound as a five years old boy a bit. They certainly look kinda amateur, but I dont think "how they look" is important at all.

The importan is that its good for the sport to have a promotion that not only appeal to the casual fan that looks for excitement.
Im glad they signed guys as Shields, Okami orm Fitch. Bellator would avoid sign them because they are not flashy enough for their casual fans. This is more imporant to me.

The UFC might not need to sign Moraes considering some of the news coming out about the WSOF losing money and it's foreign promotions like WSOF Japan not happening and no news coming out recently about its Canada and Central America branches it might just be a matter of time before WSOF goes under or is sold to Zuffa. I personally don't think it will last to long into 2016.

Um, he's had 6 fights with WSOF in 22 months. And the frequency of their fights has gone up to the point where they're expecting to run 15-20 shows next year.

WSOF cards are getting worse and worse, their strategy makes no sense to me.

They started out with the right idea by putting big names in Like Arlovski and Rumble. Now that they are gone they have Shields and Okami, who are not exactly the most exciting fighters. If not for Gaethje and Moraes they would be completely lost. The part I REALLY don't understand is why they keep putting in these Russian fighters who don't get me wrong are good but I want fighters I can remember their name and identify with. They seem completely lost on how to build up their fighters.

Problem is Ray Sefo, tbh.

They get a spot on NBC main network in front of what's their biggest audience to date. He's asked what's coming up for WSOF. Perfect opportunity to promote your next show and the fighters on it, right?

Well, Mr Sefo proceeds to say something to the effect of "we've got a lot of great action and exciting fights coming and it's going to be a great time for the World Series of Fighting", without mentioning a date, time, location or any of the fighters on the next card. Probably because they hadn't actually booked any of the fights yet, which is another problem.

They've got some positives. A solid partner in NBC, a good roster of young up and comers mixed in with some experienced vets with name value. The presentation is not as good as UFC but probably better than Bellator. This past weekend's show had some great fights and Perez and Ozzy looked like they could be future contenders. Marcellino even looked pretty good in the loss.

They put the big names on and paid them big money and they didn't draw anyone.
Two cards with both Arlovski and Rumble on them (once against one another) were blown out the water by a card with Taylor-Branch who were competing with both Showtime and Glory that night.

I don't think Ray Sefo even knows what planet he's on.

Excellent points. Ozzy was great, and I was very impressed with Perez. I am just personally having trouble with it. I mean the whole thing. From the music, to the Interview guy Varner, lack of fighter build up, etc... Having watched from WSOF1 I was excited but my excitement has dwindled but I will keep watching hoping there is improvement. Just my opinion but they are screwed without Moraes, and Gaethje. Those two guys are GREAT finds. Newell is a great story too.
