I can already feel this will be like Bellator and Alvarez... Hopefully Marlon's contract isn't
Barbarically long and they actually let him finish it out.

Here is the article:

Exclusivity is a tough ask for promoters who want to sign and build a fighter but may not necessarily have the resources to give them a living. And from a standpoint of prestige, convincing a prospect to stay in one place when the UFC is calling is nearly impossible.

That

The Alvarez litigation did more harm than good to Bellator. Hopefully WSOF took note of this and won't repeat their mistakes. People already view Ali as a snake. Don't give them any more ammo.

Still I think they'll have a hard time letting go of a fighter that they built.

He's good and I'd like to see him take the UFC belt.

my prayers are with him and the moraes family

Everyone knows Moraes just resigned with them right? So as much as I want him to come to the UFC its not WSOf screwing him, he did it to himself.

He had only like one or two fights left on his deal, he could have played that out and probably been a free agent right now or after his next fight but he wanted to stay.

So its on him if he now wants to move on and fight the best cause he had his chance, its not WSOF fault.

It does suck though cause they really have nothing for him, Hill, Sheymon are prospects, he should be on to top 10 BW not having to fight prospects.

Mizguaki, Assuncao, Mayday, Barao, Faber, Cruz, TJ, these are the guys he should be fighting.

He re-signed with them before his last fight. No need to cause a stink that's not there

All this time I thought UFC and WSOF were collaborators, not competitors.

THIS...

WSOF has made no bones about the fact that anyone on their roster can get out of their contract to UFC if they get an offer.

What were Rumble and Andrei's contract situations like with WSOF when they bolted back for UFC? I thought WSOF was open to working something out to release a guy to go to the big show. With Marlon it's a different situation since he's a homegrown talent and he's holding their belt, but I'm sure they'll reach some kind of an agreement to let him go at some point.

WSOF and UFC have played nice together in the past so I don't see them putting up much of a road block if the UFC wants Moraes.

Rumble finished his contract, and AA had only one fight but WSOF had stopped booking him long before they eventually released him and they didn't have any HW's anyway.

There aren't really any cases of them being a league that will just let anybody walk to the UFC. They tried to claim they weren't the org to "stand in the way of a fighters dreams" and BS like that during the whole Bellator/Alvarez controversy. I think we can probably assume that was just a ploy to get fighters to sign with them instead of Bellator. Since then, their suits get just as many complaints as Bjorn ever did for being underhanded and i think Ali even flipped out about guys requesting releases or trying to fight out their contract quicker than he wanted. He even threatened to put guys on the shelf. They are out for themselves no different from BMMA. That's OK though. They lost Rumble because they couldn't afford him and they let AA go because they couldn't use him.

Moraes should be blamed.
If he really wanted to go to UFC, why did he re-sign with WSOF?

Hans Stringer was also a WSOF fighter now in the UFC.

Are people forgetting that Marlon Moraes' management team is headed by Ali (WSOF matchmaker). Marlon is getting paid quite well thanks to Ali running WSOF. Sefo is just a figurehead.

Guess who gets a percentage of Marlon's contract....Ali. Same thing with David Branch. Ali claims he stepped away from management to run WSOF, but from what I have heard, that's not exactly true. I'm surprised someone from Bloody Elbow or MMAjunkie hasn't dug a little deeper to find out the relationship between Marlon, Ali, and WSOF.
