Seems like Khamzat Chimaev vs Edwards will get rescheduled

There has been no news since Edwards pulled out and it seems as if this one will just get pushed back to January on Fight Island. I personally believe we will soon enter the Khamzat Chimaev era?

 
This fight is like Khabib vs Ferguson, or Zabit vs Yair. It will never happen. Chimaev will be made a fool, and waste years of his prime training for this fight and having it cancelled at the last moment over and over again. He should just move on and demand a new opponent.

Edwards only pulled out once lets give him the benefit of the doubt for the second time that he doesn't pull out. Edwards is the easiest road to TS. It doesn't matter which month January, Feb or March. Khamzat should be able to smesh this guy and put him away. Which I believe he will do he just needs the octagon time with him
 
Yeah the UFC see’s this as Khamzat’s path of least resistance into the top 5 as quick as possible. Of course they’re gonna reschedule.
 
Safe to assume there is a reason we don't have a headliner for either the 1/20 or 1/30 dates.

if it happens again, then definitely move on. but edwards got covid, so can't really blame him too much.

I have this feeling too..

Edwards will probably test negative and a date is set and then right before the fight takes place he starts testing positive again becuase we've seen this shit happen before

also, didn't Edwards complain about how fucked up he got from covid? losing shitloads of weight and what not? And he still wants to go in january?

Yeah, he lost 12 lbs. So, he's weak. So, he'll get injured in training camp. Then blah blah blah forever. He never wanted this fight. Dana had to force him to take it. So, any time he sprains his ankle, the fight will be off. For years.

Even regardless of if it's a fight he wanted or not Edwards is a guy that always wants to make sure he takes a fight on his absolute terms. Now, that's not a bad thing, but that's just what it is.

Nobody remembers that Edwards called out Usman on twitter and said that he was ready whenever Usman was. Then a couple of weeks later he said "yeah I was offered the title shot but we couldn't make it happen this time" Alluding to that he thought it was too short of a notice despite the "ready when you are" comment

and that was for a freaking title shot!
 
I'm not really all that interested in this match-up anymore. Wish they just found a new opponent for Khamzat for the 19th.
 
I'm really surprised they didn't just match him against Thompson or Magny, I assumed that was partly an insurance matchmaking (not that it isn't still an awesome fight).

Only stupid people get covid tho. It’s not rocket science to put on a motorcycle helmet while u have a mask on underneath that.. being more concerned with not looking silly than with not getting covid = stupid people
 
All these top WWs and MWs can run but they can't hide.

Khamzat double champ with title defenses in each div by the end of 2022.
 
Christ, is this really necessary? Just give khazmat another name.
 
They wouldn't take the chance of Khamzat losing by booking another fight.
 
If Chimaev and the UFC are smart they've got him cutting weight to step in to replace WB/Neal given how things have been lately
 
I want to see Khamzat fighting but why should he take a step back? He is just one win away to get a Title Shot. At this point fghting some Top 15 gatekeeper doesn't make sense for Khamzat.

Leon Scott and then Kamarudeen.
